I fight southpaw myself, and have done for many a year. Believe me,the exact positioning of your opponents foot when they are lunging in at you is not high on your agenda.

I will give you this though - Marquez's eyes were not on Pacquiao's face as the shot landed; however, nor were they on his feet either! But, let me elaborate on your point - you say that Marquez's eyes were not focused on Pac - I agree, but state that they were not on Marquez's foot either. So, by your rationale, Marquez made a deliberate attempt to not only twat an onrushing Pac Man clean on the chin AND stomp on his foot at the exact same time, whilst not looking at anything in particular. IF true and accurate, that is one hell of a trick!

Bottom line - Marquez suckered him in, and twatted him right on the button, and which point, Marquez had his weight on his right foot and was stepping slightly to the left with his left foot to make an angle for the left hook (which he subsequently pulled out of) and pivot away (he was doing this all night off the right hand...) - these foot movements occurred at the same time as Pacquiao launched the second phase of an attack (attempted to draw the lead from Marquez, stepped out, jumped in and planted his feet).

So, yes, it is all about timing, but not as you seem to think it is. Also, you may want to learn the intricacies of boxing before you try to preach them to me in future.

Its a shame *******s cant be as accepting and humble as Manny is. Pacquiao accepted that he made a mistake, and he paid for it. Now Pac says he is willing to go back in the ring and correct it. I hope he does too, that fight was amazing

 

The boxing is not about using dirty tricks to get an advantage. It was a foul and by the rules the ref should have waived it off and sent to scorecards.

 

It seems like Pac lunged in with his guard down. Pac initiated that foot trip but it didn't really matter because the right hand was already on its way to Pac's chin.

If anything, it looks like Pacquiao might have stepped on Marquez' foot as the KO shot landed.

If you review that very moment in the fight, JMM looked unsure of what to do after Pac dropped forward. He appeared guilty of doing something illegal, like how Pac looked like when he punched Marquez when Marquez was on the ropes in their first fight.
