Wouldn't this mean that he is limited if his style only looks good against a particular type of opponent. I think that the OP is correct in his assertion that Pacquiao has been exposed for what he really is; a quick of hand and foot fighter with great power, unorthodox style, but limited technical ability. Even so, he is still an amazing fighter. Against complimentary styles he looks unbeatable, but now that varnish has been completely removed. Pac-man is no more, he is merely Manny Pacquiao, which is still a very formidable opponent. Even against cerebral opponents, he will still cause a lot of problems. He is no walk in the park for any style. Marquez is a special fighter, and only he could have landed that shot.
So he lost to another elite, it makes him him overrated? Really, your reasoning is that of 5 year old. I don't know what you saw but I saw he got caught, but before that, it could possibly have been the other way around. If he's exposed like you say, I guess Barrerra, Morales, Cotto and everybody else were bums.
Another thing, I believe that the way he fought last night, if it was somebody else other than Marquez, they would have been gone, he looked great last night honestly. Looked strong and fast. Maybe punch resistance is no longer there, I don't know.
How can you say cherry pick when everyone who knows boxing says that before this fight, PAC-Marquez III, Marquez did best performance of his life?
Shut the **** up. He was in a golden era of 126/130lbers (and he dominated). Go **** yourself and cancel your account here. You are definitely not a true boxing fan (or maybe just a noob one).
If Pacquiao is overrated then Marquez's win amounts to little considering he won against a "lesser" fighter.
Yeah I suppose the "*******s" would have always said otherwise. I've always known Pacquiao's limited ability, just as I know my other favourite fighters Nick and Nate Diaz' limited style too. Pac was naturally good enough to be able to handle fights with Mosley, Bradley and JMM, but I've always thought that when you got an equally natrually talented fighter like Mayweather, who is also the much better version of what Pac struggles against, it would never work out. He is limited, but last night showed something new. He adapted his style to fight with JMM and added head movement into the mix, so he was still learning and showing intelligence. Alas, it wasnt enough though.
people like you are not boxing fans an this forum would be better with out people like you an you call 1 of the best fighters of this generation pedcquioa thats proves know one shud lissin to you anyways an the thing about mayweather taking big shots from mosley ye he did but pacquiao has also taken big shots all through his career an took them like nothing that was just the perfect shot an no 1 was stayin up from that.
There aren't many fighters like Bhop or Juan operating in boxing at this level but it happens. What's the problem? I didn't see one. I saw an epic battle between rivals that needed an end result like this one. The one thing that it produced besides a candidate for FOTY was talk of a 5th installment of PAC vs JMM. As crazy as that **** sounds, that fight breathed new life in this rivalry because of how great it was. Juan came from behind to score one of the best KO's of the year and probably the best win of 2012 as well. After that round 5 and 2:59 of round 6.....the outcome looked bleak for JMM. One punch changed the course of the fight which is what makes boxing so exciting. Violence, brutality, skill and beauty was all wrapped up in 6 rounds of action. And all you pulled from that was some jab at PAC? If you are a true boxing fan you appreciated what was on display last night.
The style Juan has is one that causes problems for everyone....for PAC...that style has always been his kryptonite. the funny thing is....PAC's style presents the same kind of problems for everyone but even moreso for Juan, which is what we saw last night. JMM went through hell and back to find clarity enough to land that counter right in the hail of punches PAC was raining down on him. But throughout the fight PAC was out boxing Juan. It Juan's straight right vs PAC's straight left and PAC was landing his more accurately while also doing more damage.
FOTY against a FORTY year old? If that's the case then I agree with the OP PEDcquiao was exposed. If a FORTY year old can make any fight FOTY you have to question the quality of his opposition. Believe me that FORTY year old gets embarrassed again by Floyd and the fight will be boringly one sided.
