Doesn't really matter from the financial angle. That fight's going to get at least 1m fewer PPVs than it would otherwise have done. It'll still make a bundle, but it won't be the stratospheric event it would have been 18 months ago.

Why would he fight? Mayweather had offered him 40 million dollars, and he turned it down, so let Pac go his way and make his supposed 25 million against other fighters. people seem to claim that Mayweather needs Pac to make money and Pac doesn't need mayweather so let them go their separate ways. It's funny that the saying right now is that Mayweather lost his 100 million, well, how much did Pac lose? The fight is dead, I don't want to see it b/c I know mayweather probably won't knock him out, but he will batter him like he did to gatti.

I rather see Floyd fight Marquez for the second time, then see him fight Pac now. Marquez did enough, to make a second fight with Floyd happen.

He will never fight Pacquiao under any realistic circumstances. Just read his recent quotes - this fight will never happen, it wasn't going to happen even if Marquez stayed down in the 5th and it won't happen with what happened to Pacquiao in the 6th

    :rofl:lol:

Does this keep them Floyd fans going? Living in belief that one day Floyd gonna challenge himself and give for us fight fans the great fight as taking opponent who is actually a legit threat.

Reality with Floyd is we could see fight against Martinez, we get Guerrero. It has been like this when Floyd moved up from lightweight.

Considering Floyd has been a welterweight since 2006 or 2007, he has a joke resume. He's now going to take on a lightweight when the he is a natural, even slightly big welterweight.

Yet they still hope for Martinez and now have the perfect chance to write off Pacquiao. Is Guerrero a bigger challenge than Pacquiao? Ortiz? A beyond washed up Cotto who still was able to pin Floyd to the ropes when he grew a pair in the 2nd half of the fight? Just drop this Floyd rubbish - accept this guy is the biggest coward in the sport and continues to rip off your deluded fans with pointless money earning match-ups to fund his self-indulgent spending :patsch

Whatever Pac does, he needs to take some time and not get back into the ring too quick... Take an easy fight to get his confidence back, make sure he is still firing on all cylinders.. We all remember Jones vs. Johnson.

I think Pac still has some good fights left in him as long as he is smart.

Fight has been dead for years and even they said they didnt need to fight each other. Saturday was just hammering another long nail in the coffin. Wont forgive em for that but do respect what they've done as fighters.

Agree with everything except the Cotto comment. May played with Cotto. The only area that has no question marks with Floyd is his in ring abilities. He allowed Cotto to pin him on the ropes to make the fight look better. I'm not one for conspiricies but I thought that looked pretty obvious, even if at the time I was calling for Cotto to rip his head off.

No. Fight never happens now. Just made a thread on this, with Arum in the title.

Arum has his trump card on Floyd now. No way he ever makes the fight.

i kind of thought that as well, it may be a combination of both. The first 6 rounds Cotto barely threw a punch. Point is Cotto was washed up
