90% of this board seems to think Pacquaio is a fraud or a media creation. If that is so, why would JMM get so much credit for beating Pacquaio?

It's the flavor of the week. This is ESB, you know this. Just like how last week, it was that one of Mayweather and Pac's 5 best wins each are gutter trash since Cotto went on to lose afterward.

Just further proof that how we value active fighters during their career is the most fluid and changing thing out there... This Saturday will dramatically affect Pac's legacy (as it should).

He's been one of the top fighters for a while and is why ESB has a thread about him or Floyd everyday. Is why JMM gets credit. As he fought a top fighter 4 times and got the better of him with a clear win

Most fighters are over/under rated. Lose one fight and you're a bum. Win fights and you get a lot of hype which gets blown out of proportion

Overrated doesn't mean that you suck or is not good. PAC is good but he is overrated due to awesome promotion and the right type of opponents. The right opponents with a certain style will make anybody look better than what they Truly are. I think manny walks that tightrope of being overrated.

It's like Freddy roach... I think he is a good trainer but definately overrated. Naz also

    Let's not exaggerate. 90%?

I thought that was the best Pacquiao has looked in years. Speed and sharpness was exceptional. From the 4th round on, he was controlling it, he just got careless looking for the knockout.

The truth is that Pac has been a P4P mainstay for such a long time, and headed the list for quite some time as well. Multiple time world champion and has names on his resume not everyone got to beat.

He's an ATG in a true sense of the word.

The problem is there so much bull**** from fans that most people got alienated and it clouded their judgement.

Marquez knocking him out cold is definitely his best win bar none.

But as you know, those things can easily erase what he has accomplished in other people's minds.

Pac is overrated as ****, but that doesn't mean he sucks. He wasn't the fighter of the decade, ATG, super elite p4p monster that people tried to make him out to be. That's why people called him overrated.

He is most certainly an ATG, no less than 2nd best fighter of the 00-09 decade, and has been an elite P4P'er since 2003.

Yes and its frustrating to see the I-TOLD-YOU-SO attitudes from 90% of this board and act as if Pacquaio was a crap fighter.

You wouldn't know it by this board. On this board he's a fraud and a media creation.

Overrated is someone who just got hired to work with a dominant champion who only needs to be reminded of the basics. Roach turned a one handed fighter who every other coach turned down and made him the fighter he is today.

It amazes me that anyone can really say knocking Pacquiao out COLD in 6 rounds doesn't deserve to be recognised as anything other than an amazing win.

Just because he got caught with a shot doesn't mean it was a complete ****ing fluke you bunch of ******s. Marquez was falling behind on points but he was patient and made the adjustment early from throwing a straight right hand at Pacquiao to an overhand right and once he connected with it in the third round and he knew he had the power to knock down Pacquiao, he threw it more often and you could see him trying to land it. He did so at the end of round 6 and the rest is history. Marquez is a great fighter with a record that doesn't tell the whole story of how great he really is, people need to recognise that beating pac the way he did and in the fashion he did is nothing short of an amazing win, DEAL WITH IT.

The point of this thread is if Pacquaio is such a fraud and media creation as many posters on this board seem to think, why does JMM get so much credit?
