Arturo ‘Thunder’ Gatti, Virgil ‘Quicksilver’ Hill and referee Mills Lane headline the 2013 induction class for the International Boxing Hall of Fame and Museum in Canastota, the hall announced Monday.

The class also includes two-time flyweight champ Myung-Woo Yuh, ring announcer Jimmy Lennon Jr., Wesley Ramey, Jeff Smith in the Old-Timer category, manager Arturo ‘Cuyo’ Hernandez in the Non-Participant Category, and journalist Colin Hart.

In the Observer Category, cartoonist Ted Carroll with be posthumously inducted and Joe Coburn with also get a posthumous induction in the Pioneer Category.

Gatti’s induction will be done posthumously as well.

Jeff Smith? ....That makes 15 Hall of Famers defeated by the God of War if you count Jack Blackburn. Greb fought Jeff Smith seven times.

Happy as hell to see Wesley Ramey in there -he whipped a teenage Cocoa Kid in '33 in Springfield, Massachusetts (home state for me).

Annoyed that Virgil Hill is in. Too many voters don't know dink about who was really who before color TV.

Hey, Stoney. What's your take on Marquez' performance against Pacquiao? Historically, of course. This is the Classic.

I'm elated to see Mills Lane finally get in, it's long over due. I was quite unhappy to see Cortez in there but Lane not.

This may be unpopular, but I don't really agree with the Gatti induction. There are fighters who were better and more accomplished than him who are not in.

yes, i love gatti but the fact that he's not here anymore probably played a part in him getting in on the first ballot. this is a really weak hof class. hill was a very solid guy but lost every time he stepped up in class.

Sam Collyer would have been a better choice than Joe Coburn. But, as usual, words "heavyweight champion" have too much weight literally.

I would agree. But I cannot think of a (eligible) fighter not in there at the moment, who's name will help sell more tickets for the weekend. And that has to be a factor in his nomination.

How about Marvin Johnson or Gaspar Ortega for future induction?

Virgil Hill deserves the Hall but Arturo Gatti? Matters what your criteria is . He was an exciting fighter so I suppose the Hall of "fame" really is what it says.

Ernesto Marcel or Rafael Herrera need to be inducted sooner rather than later. :deal
