If it's going to be on HBO, then I would think it will be a pretty legit opponent. His inactivity and injuries are a serious concern, though.
Pirog seemed very sure that his next opponent would be Golovkin. What's most interesting is that when they asked him for a prediction on Pacquiao-Marquez 4, Pirog said it would be a masterpiece of a fight and that Marquez would win because Pacman is bored/frustrated and no longer has the drive he had when he was in his prime.
Less is more. :nod "Always leave 'em wanting..." ...which seems to be the approach of Pirog's management. :blood
Maybe it's all one big conspiracy and they're angling toward Mayweather vs. Pirog in 2020. (which means they've each got about half a dozen appearances before then)
Do you not understand what "all in" means? I put faith in Marquez. (and grabbed a bit on the Kessler vs. Magee under before that, which I dumped immediately back onto Marquez upon payout)
Pirog vs Barker Pirog vs Macklin Pirog vs Proksa Pirog vs Geale Lots of good fight for Pirog. He doesnt have one top 10 middleweight scalp on his record in the last two years. He needs to step it up. I realise its been tough, with injuries, some fighters not accepting fights, n whatnot. But that only goes so far. Hope 2013 can result in him finally facing off with the other contenders.
:deal I have never placed real money on a boxing sporting event before but was seriously contemplating putting a few hundred down on Marquez. Oh well, the VCASH will have to suffice for the holiday season.
Three very decent wins, mind you - but you're right. No top 10 middles. Maciel is an excellent light middleweight. Martirosyan is a top-shelf trial horse at Euro level. Ishida was still riding the end of his wave from his great run in 2010/2011 (robbed against Rigoberto Alvarez and then the surprise KO1 of Kirkland) - although PTP had taken a bit of its luster already. A fringe 11-20 guy might be acceptable for the March 2nd comeback, but after that he needs to kick into high gear.
