Having 0 vCash can mean one of two things: you've either bet it all on live events and are awaiting the outcome and possible payouts, as was the case for me last week - or you're actually all out and don't have any invested having lost all your bets already. If it's the latter, you get an automatic refresher bank of $75 the next time a new vBookie event is created. Is this not getting through?
Yeah but that has nothing to do with what you asked me. I wasn't out of vCash, and didn't need to wait for a refresher bank. I was all in. Do you understand what that means?
Agree. One warmup, then get serious. For the warmup there are plenty of good choices: Kerry Hope, Proksa, Darren Barker, maybe Rubio even. Real fights: as he already agreed to fighting Golovkin before his injury, it means he is up and ready for anything the MW division can come up with. Including a truely tasty chance of a Daniel Jacobs rematch. With some luck we could see plenty of Pirog in 2013/2014.
Barker a warmup?? No way. You've got the right idea with Hope and Proksa, and maybe Rubio...but Barker is a next-level opponent. He's a step up from those guys, and would be a candidate for the next time out after March.
Pirog really needs to become active again and capitalize on whats left of the Jacobs win. I'd like to see him take a softer fight early next year and then Golovkin-Pirog by the middle of the year. The winner of that could get Martinez late 2013 if Martinez doesn't face Chavez.
It isn't like he's a one-hit wonder. That idea needs to subside. I'm actually more impressed by him outclassing Maciel than by him cold-cocking Jacobs. Even before his HBO debut, he'd racked up enough solid performances to be taken seriously. He does need to challenge himself and go after bigger names to realize his potential and get some credit, though. We all agree on that.
Yeah, he has a handful of solid victories on his record and Jacobs clearly isn't the only guy he's beaten. But,I was refering to his marketability. The main reason people want to see him face other top guys is because of the Jacobs fight. W/o that win he'd be even more obscure and HBO wouldn't even consider him let alone offer him fights.
I sort of agree with you on the Maciel win. Maciel is a solid boxer and a case can be made that that win is as good as Jacobs. Its too bad Maciel isn't fighting Andrade anymore that would have been a good test for Andrade.
Definitely. It could have even been a shock setback for BooBoo, and brought Maciel some exposure stateside.
I think a rematch with Jacobs is still a ways off. Jacobs needs to get back on a roll and step up to a solid level of competition before that. I would love to see it, but we are at least a year away, I'd imagine.
I think with Jacobs' activity and Pirog's lack of it, the gap might be shorter. Danny's been in with no-marks throughout his comeback, but he's looking sharp.
