kid is damn good at stand up...one of the articles says he is also a champion wrestler..googled him with wrestling and found that he hasnt made it past the mid level of state tournments. His BJJ is good though (although, how deep is the talent pool at that age with BJJ?)[url]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8YGjhOAEtMEhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CvSbjRwStnUhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwi9JhLOi2M[/url]
he might well burn out..and he might get sick of it or have problems or many other things..having said that..he is a damn good boxer..legit..damn good kickboxer...and pretty good at BJJ (his folk style wrestling is so so....)
Yep i watched a segment on this kid, no doubt he is awesome for his age. However, the kid has been trained like a pro fighter for years so he should be pretty good. When i say trained like a pro fighter i mean 3 plus hours per day some days alot more. Full blown puberty will CHANGE the entire situation for this young fella. Puberty is the BEST of all steriods and totally legal so until the kid comes out on the other end there is no sense predicting him as a future world champ. It is not as if he wins all his fights on pure athletic ability. He no doubt has good hands, strength, chin etc, however, he is VERY VERY well schooled, very focused and knows exactly what he needs to do in the ring to win. Above all the kid is disiplined in the ring and follows his training to a T. Most 13 years olds do the exact opposite. Great story!
yea i agree Latineg..as far as boxing goes..plenty of kids win nation titles at 13 and never go anyplace..of course some become world champions..and its not a small percent. All in all though i think it is a foreshadow of things to come..even if it isnt from Reshat...i would guess that in 15 years you will start to see guys in mma who are truly well rounded/world class in mulitple areas....imagine a kid who wins a gold medal in olympic boxing wrestling and jude fighting in mma? would be ****ing ruthless (i didnt say BJJ because they dont have that yet) but for that matter just someone close to that level would be impressive.
Latineg's right it's way to hard to tout a future prospect at 13. I remember how hard it was to keep my mind on track when I was 18 let alone 13, a lot of stuff can derail your plans in your teens. Show us some of his striking then.... EditSorry just noticed the link).
that boxing wasn't impressive for a 13 year old, im not sure what you mean. Sure he is young but he doesn't understand a lot, you cant really say much more than he can hit harder than the other kid.
Found this: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbmbScZgZD8[/ame] He does look talented, but I think he's training too much for a kid that age. When pushed so hard so young it's very possible he losses interest once he hit 16 to 18, once his mates start discovering booze and chicks in a major way, he may feel he's missing out. He does look good, but who knows. They say they can't get fights for him, well they should take him out to Bangkok once a year for around 6 weeks in his holidays and he could fight every week if he wanted against hungry young fighters the same age. Then you'd really see, sink or swim.A great life expereince for him also.
A friend of mine did that when he was 18 and was down in Thailand for 4 months and when he came back he said there have not seen anyone with more heart than the guys he fought down there he even took a muay thai fight for shits and giggles and got his ass handed to him on a silver plate. He came back better than ever
:good As I always say they're the Mexicans of Asia, some of the toughest fighters on the planet, tough as nails and relentless. I'll never forget the first time I trained clichwork in Thailand, I was thrown around like a ragdoll by a pintsize warrior half my age and size, blew me away, not to mention the first time a I was kicked by a Thai in the ring it was a whole world of pain different to anything I'd experienced in the west.:scaredas: It'd be a great expereince for the kid in this thread to fight guys his age that are hungry in a way he'll never know due to the poverty. The training we'll be more intense than anything he could experince MT wise in the states as would the competiton. An expereince that'll stay with him for life not to mention help him develop into an iron clad warrior. (Although I realise MT ain't his main thrust.)
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwi9JhLOi2M[/ame] thats some grappling stuff...one thing to consider is some of the footage on youtube is actually old and from when he was 10
