Saul needs just a little more bolstering, and he'll get it by beating down Cotto, likely on the undercard the same night. That sets the stage nicely for them to make an absolute killing on what'll be billed as a Mega Fight. In terms of hype.

You think so? Richard saying they wouldn't rule Cotto out as an opponent immediately after he lost to Trout indicates to me that: He's fighting Cotto. Also made comments about how Trout hadn't "earned it". Losing a decision to Money in a PPV that could do 1.8 on a mexican holiday isn't nearly as 'damaging' as the chance of dropping one to an unknown in (Freshwater) Trout.

 

Guerrero....despite what many may say, why not? For the available opponents at 147 not on Top Rank, Guerrero has working his way up. He's not a huge name, but who else in the game is? Martinez is already set so no one can say he's duckin him. But Ward beat a 168 Dawson and everyone said he was drained. So if Martinez went down to 154 and lost to Mayweather, would everyone say it was a drained Martinez?

I say Guerrero and I see another Mayweather UD.

 

I wouldn't rule it (Cotto) out, It should be Trout tho.
Alvarez beats Austin or vice versa & the fans demand Mayweather next.

It definitely should be Trout, and eventually Canelo will be in against top opposition just about every time out. I think they've been carefully nursing this fight (Floyd-Canelo) for a while now and want it to hit at it's hottest point with both of their 0's intact. It isn't as if Alvarez can't beat Trout either, but I think they make him wait.

That's a damn good point (re: Cotto-Saul) but perhaps after two convincing Cotto losses, it's now best served being billed as the co-feature of Floyd-Guerrero.

 

If Mayweather fights in May like he says than Guerrero is probably the most likely opponent. I wouldn't be shocked if Khan gets the shot, doubt there are many other realistic options outside of those two.

Guerrero will get completely ruined by Mayweather. I had never seen him fight before the Berto match, but I was blown away with how dirty he was, and how weak his punches looked. He clearly won the fight, but it was because the ref wasn't calling him on holding or heat butting and Berto had an awful game plan. I didn't think his punches were hurting Berto and Mayweather has absolutely no concern of losing that fight.

I would much rather see him fight anyone else. Khan would be nice. Alvarez needs more work before we throw him into the lions den.

Nothing for him at ww. He's a clear level above the rest of the division. I mean there are some great victories to be had but none are what I'd call a challenge.

Alvarez is big and undefeated. Plus he's wbc holder and a huge name.

I think Floyd stays at lmw and takes on canelo.

 

The easiest challenge by far is Guerrero, but I would not be surprised to see him call out Marquez.
