Since it is going to be a must-win fight - someone respectable but not very dangerous.

You may not have heard, Haye isn't a cruiserweight anymore.

Personally, I wouldn't go near Kayode. too much risk / small reward.

He's sloppy and strangely off-balance, but he's also aggressive and dangerous. and fun to watch FWIW) There's no upside to fighting him.

    -----------

BTW, Eddie, massive props for your performance against Adamek. I'm sure you realize that you upped you stock even in the loss.

Also, like many, I scored in 115-113 for you, even with 1 arm.

    Gutsball, my man.

If Chambers doesn't believe he can beat the likes of Kayode he might as well retire. I posted early on that it makes most sense for a "US Television" event. Without some network support fights just don't make as much money. Ya can't forget the business end of the sport.

I don't mind the ratio with Kayode.

It isn't supposed to be massive reward from the jump. This is Eddie's cruiser debut. A ShoBox level guy, knocking on the door of the world scene (but unlikely to burst through), with some American TV exposure and name recognition, and the Wild Card association, with a nice zero to claim? That's almost a perfect mark for someone in Eddie's current situation.

There also isn't that much risk...not considering the disparity in fundamentals. Kayode is aggressive and dangerous but Chambers is a) defensively sound and b) had a darn useful chin up at heavyweight. We've got no reason yet to doubt it'll be any worse moving down, considering Eddie had enough padding in the 200's that he won't exactly be drained in the high 190's.

So Lateef won't land much, and what he does shouldn't be a problem.

    :good

There is no way in hell Eddie can land a fight with Kayode. They are priming Kayode for the title shot. Why on earth would they let him fight Eddie unless they were certain that Kayode can knock Eddie out in 6.

Eddie should fight BJ Flores for NABA title and then fight Lebedev for WBA belt. I am sure WBA will be ecstatic to have Eddie as their champ.

Yeah, this is a good point (as well as I.B.'s)

    - And i'd personally love to see this fight. However, I honestly do see Kayode as a serous threat. If Chambers were to fight and beat him, it would be a huge win in my estimation, not just because of the exposure, but because I seem to think more of Kayode than most ESB'ers do.

I've scored both fights with Huck a draw. At times he seems above hucks level but at others like he doesn't seriously believe he can stop the aggression.

Ola will struggle with aggression but he has the equaliser and his boxing skills are no worse than anyone in the division.

I'd love to see ola v lebedev. That's hard to call but if shot Roy can give him problems then ola should do it.

No use Eddie facing ola now, high risk zero reward pretty much. Ballsy fight but not a smart one.

Kayode or green are the logical choices.

It's a shame the Thompson fight didn't come off, I was looking forward to that one.

Eddie has easily been one of the best hw contenders of recent times and whilst wlad was always a step too far I'd have loved a pov rematch for the wba strap. Open up fights for the likes of chagaev, haye etc.
