i always thought he looked abit of a dick to be honest...watched ringside the other night and after hearing him speak i thought he was great,how he talks and you can tell hes very passionate about what he does,i now like him...even if he does train 2 fighters i cant stand

Seems like his ego has deflated a little under the watchful eye of Virgil. I think the proper word is become humble.

At about the 19 minute mark, you see hunter teaching him how to fight on the inside. Hunter is one of he best trainers around from what I can tell.

 

He seems very knowledgeable - enjoyed listening to him this week.

The real test though, will be how much success he has with Khan and his other fighters. You can't judge any trainer on his work with one fighter.

A while ago, Nazeem was hailed as a genius, a throw-back to trainers from the golden era etc. A couple of defeats later, you rarely hear his name even though he's still an excellent coach.

A great trainer should be able to have success with different fighters with different skill sets. I'm not saying Hunter isn't the real deal - he comes across very well - but time will ultimately tell just how good he is.

just shows how much khan is lacking defensively before Virgil, hes learning some good stuff tho, he just gotta think more and not waste all his energy on pointless shots that will get countered

Something Roach has been trying to drill in him for a long time to get rid of that excess movement and nervous energy. Glad to see him taking a no-nonsense approach to it all, because if Khan doesn't learn from him, he won't learn from anyone.

I watched this documentary last night. I thought it was fascinating to see Virgil work - the bit where he was showing Amir how to use the ring was quality. I find it amazing that Khan has been a world champion but yet has so many things to improve on. I've heard on here that Virgil says Khan doesn't train in between fights - another thing I find amazing. You'd think he'd always to learning his craft, but sounds like he hasn't.
