Title fights need to be 15 rounds, it seperates the men from the boys.

I agree, I am just pointing out TV companies are now only intrested in 12 rounders because of the TV hour...

Although a boxing show is seldom on for an hour. ITV and Sky usually around the 2 hour mark every time out.

Yeah, ITV normally has a minimum double main event...

SKY is a bit different because it has the sports channels, but still people struggle to concentrate now, adding three extra rounds does not help that.

Do not get me wrong I would love to see 15 rounders back, but I doubt it will happen.

No 45 round bouts seperates the men from the boys. 15 rounds is like playing a game of golf in comparison.

They definitely took boxing off network tv, that's for sure.

15 rounds seems the perfect distance.

Didn't the USBA also had that type of gimmick? At least that what I've heard they had.

Yes they too experimented with it in the late 80s.

And the answer to the question is I believe Flores WS15 Holland from June 1997.

It makes for better viewing, but I feel it's too much to ask of the fighters. These men put their health on the line, we shouldn't create conditions for them that hardly anyone concludes a career without life-altering brain-damage.

I wonder if it would slow down the pace of the fight? Guys may throw fewer punches per round if they know they need to go 15.
