When people accuse boxers of PED use, Martinez is never mentioned

I'm not accusing him of anything but surely if you were suspicious he'd be the obvious choice. Came out of nowhere in his mid thirties to become a top 3 P4P fighter. Was ordinary in his early career, losing to Margarito, which was fine, but just 1 year before the Pavlik fight he couldn't even beat Cintron. Has amazing stamina and handspeed.

I'm a big Martinez fan BTW, and I don't actually think he's on anything, just think he's the obvious candidate.

See your point but we all know that he is willing to do OSDT at any time.

You'll only hear *****s or *******s talk about this bull****, which is why you hardly ever hear anyone say it about Martinez. That'd probably change if Floyd where to ever fight Martinez though...

Martinez has taken his power up 1 weight division, not that much of a big deal, he landed a ****ing beauty on Williams who had a granite beard. He knocked out Cintron ffs, I'd hardly call Martinez ordinary during his career, just very overlooked and underrated until recent times.

    Fair point.

But on the other side of the argument, it's not as if he was getting his ass kicked in his twenties. He's only had one legitimate loss and he could have lost to a guy with concrete gloves.

Have you watched the Cintron fight? He KO'd him and won the majority of the rounds.

Also he took up boxing late and thus was constantly improving, with each fight, I am also sure Martinez could have stepped up a lot sooner than the Cintron fight but he never got the chance to fight the big names until the Alex Bunema which was on HBO and led to the Cintron fight.

That never ceases to amaze me actually ... he literally KO'd a guy and still could not get the win.

What amazes me most is that a self confessed "big fan" of Sergio Martinez, comes out with a quote as ludicrous as 'Sergio Martinez was ordinary earlier in his career, and couldn't even beat Cintron'. :patsch

he got to the top of the p4p rankings because he started boxing in his twenties its not like he boxed for 10-20 years and then came out of nowhere

Cintron is a puto... he was dirty dancing on the top turnbuckle of the ring when he found out he out of the blue got a draw against Sergio.
