he's fighting a no name, 2nd tier featherfisted lightweight and even that guy was landing the kinda of hooks and straighjt rights Garcia was landing at least once every few rounds. if he had any power khan would still be asleep right now! khan was in with a dude who wasn't even a B- level fighter and he had no power. he showed that he has no hope ever vs the likes of Garcia/Rios/Matthysse etc....
He would get knocked sparks out. All this "I want Mayweather, Pacquiao, Marquez and all the big boys" is pure rubbish. He has been doing that for years yet never fought any of them.
Khan is just garbage. He still hasn't figured out after all this time how to fight like a ****ing professional. He is the only fighter I can say his speed doesn't kill. It is ****ing pathetic. dude throws flurries and I swear no punch lands. He lands nice one shot punches after the flurries or before them. It is crazy that he hasn't learned how to stop using his speed to throw Olympic flurries but should concentrate on throwing a nice fast shot the person doesn't see coming or a hard shot that he is sitting down on. I agree with whoever said Ajose, Soto, Matthaysse, and Garcia will KO this guy. It is embarassing they are trying to act like this fight meant anything.
Amir Khan has been boxing since he's 11 right? He is who he is. There may be subtle changes, but he is gonna be him. Wlad/Lennox are kind of anomalies. What fighters really change after they get another trainer?
I've never been less impressed with a an 11-0 & stoppage win in my life. Khan got countered, got shook a little bit in there but literally showed nothing to make me believe he learned a damn thing from Virgil Hunter yet. He pulled back a few times when he had the guy early, but that seems to be it. I want to see him against Ajose, hell even Karim Mayfield would be a significant step up over a 17-0 light hitting lightweight.
Agreed. Khan has shown improvements though, against a pretty tough opponent (although clearly not in his class), I think he can pick up a belt again, at the very least. You're all being way too critical.
Khan needs two more tuneups before he fights Peterson or Garcia or anyone. He has to work on his jab and defense. Rushing in to fight Garcia or Peterson now will be too early. He might win ,but he needs a little more work.
