British fighters in low weight divisions. Is there much, if anything, to shout about?

    For British boxing fans, is there really anything for us to shout about when it comes to the lower weight divisions? Are there any current British fighters below 160/168lbs that can compete at world level, or even win a world title?

    Quigg, Frampton and Yafai at 122 and below are ****ing good.

    No love for kell Brook you joking? after he went life and death with a journey man Jones many on here were claiming Jones was some sort of monster even though he had previously been dropped twice and battered by Soto-Karraass never mind his other more than a half dozen losses.

    I have to disagree on that one, Daveyboy.

    Santa Cruz admittedly had a rough time last night, but he would stop McDonnell imo. He's a very, very accurate body puncher, has bags of stamina, a granite chin and is relentless. I don't really rate McDonnell very highly either tbf, and Santa Cruz has faced much better opposition.

    McDonnell is a pretty tough bloke so might even last the distance, but i think he'd get taken apart and suffer a pretty frightful beating tbh.

    Ricky Burns holds a title, Amir Khan, Kell Brook, Macklin, Barker are all around world level not sure if they will all pick up titles though. And Frampton and Quigg may go onto world level soon.

    Britain used to Rule the World with their "wee men", sadly at the time however the focus was on the Big Men, namely the HWs.

    great history of lighter weight divisions none-the-less!
