Anyone got a stories of any of their mates, people they know that are no longer boxers holding wins over pros now. Ones that have turned over dont count. I have a mate thats beaten Kell Brook twice in the AMs. Another that stopped Tony Jeffries, beat Macklin. Anyone else?
I know some guy who's Dad, had a street fight with John Conte apparently and beat him. So he says... I used to always speak to this guy in the gym, and he told me...? that back in the day his dad had a street fight with John Conte.
Unless your from liverpool or a big AM follower you prob wont know them, havent boxed for a few years now.
My next door neighbour's dad used to be a pro boxer and believe it or not he beat Sugar Ray Robinson over 10 rounds in Paisley, Scotland in 1964. I know SRR is not a current boxer, but I believe it's worth a mention.
I once beat up the postman, at 7.45 am in front of the neighbours putting out their rubbish does that count?
Check it out for yourself. My neighbour's dad is Mick Leahy, who was a middleweight boxer in the 50's and 60's. The fight was towards the end of SRR's career and he was was obviously past his best. I suppose my neighbour could be lying, but I see no reason why, he's just a regular guy and isn't even a boxing fan. SRR lost 19 fights (officially), and not all those that beat him are well known names.
There are certain aspects of the story that lead me to suspect my neighbour may possibly be mistaken, but due to several reasons I won't be conducting a full investigation. It's a colourful story though..
