Anyone had a chance to read up on this young champion? I've been steadily checking on him. He's a dangerous, young prospect that the veterans would be well-advised to stay away from.

This young welterweight's got a k.o. in every one of his 20-something fights, save for one. He's a well-disciplined fighter with a devastating body punch, one that recently floored veteran Carlos Quintana even.

But what this guy has in talent, he lacks in ego: he's not brash, confrontational, or mouthy to the opposition. That's perhaps good and bad, for the Bob Arums of this world would need him to have such a strong personality. Humble doesn't sell fights.

What's your guys take on this boxer?

he's untested. a true welterweight, unlike maliggnagi, alexander etc....good power, less than impressive foot and hand speed...

Evidently, you have not actually viewed video of Thurman outside of the ring. There is no better self promoter out there, right now.

last televised fight, i think RJJ was speaking highly about him... something about no welterweight wanted to fight him cuz he was too powerful and it was a good move to Lt Mid...

Dood is just plain savage! Good skills, not afraid to exchange to get in the big punch. He'll be causing big waves in the division in a year... destined to be a champ

One of my favourite prospects to watch.

I think he can become a dominant Welterweight Champ.

He's alot of fun to watch. He's aggressive and obviously not afraid to exchange. He should bring alot of excitement in the next few years. Seems to want the big fights too. I'm surprised he doesn't get more attention with his crowd pleasing style, and gawdy numbers.

Same here, if he can tighten up his defense. - But he'll be a solid Light MW, for sure, by the time he reaches the top level (if he does.) - And he'd better, because he doesn't quite have the speed to survive elite WW fighters.

He's easily one of the most exciting fighters currently in the game, and he has a great attitude. The guy just loves to fight.

a future world champ for sure.

Greta puncher and great at luring someone in close and hitting them hard on the counter.

Really impressed the more i see of him.

He will be one to watch out for at 147/154. Devastating power who will get bigger fights. Watch this space!

Bout to say wtf is the OP talking about. lol The guy called out Mayweather after he beat Lora and after beating the shot Quintana called out the "world of boxing". He is a big time talker, but I will say its not 100% delusional nonsense. He seems pretty intelligent.

imo he is a big time prospect but he has yet to be tested. Lacks elite speed but his boxing skills are elite level. Read he has been dropped before as well so not sure how his beard will hold up against real competition.

One thing for sure is he's a fan friendly fighter.

Sound decent skills with good power, his defense and lack of foot and hand speed will diminish his odds against better Boxer/Punchers tho.

I was wrong about him. Before his most recent fight I only saw the one before that and in that one i thought he was real upright an stiff. This most recent I was impressed but slightly too drunk to remember
