I mean for the sake of boxing and it´s integrety.

okay, i know that there is very very little in terms of "integrety" in pro boxing, but here a line has been crossed.

i just watched a few of his fights and EVERYONE could tell that these fights are not real. everybody knows they are fakes.

YET, rourke gets to claim that he was a pro boxer and has the offical stats to back it up.

    this is just disgusting!

im not talking about questionable fights. these pro boxing matches were such obvious dives even guys that know nothing about boxing can tell.

personally, i would like to see boxrec and other official record keepers to delete his record or at least mark them as exhebitions/no contests.

    what do you think??

I wouldn't say 'fake', but I noticed that the Refs were sort of 'creating' time, allowing extra seconds here and there for Mickey to compose himself and such.

but you see that so often in Boxing now anyway, "leniencies to suit" as it were, buying a fighter time, helping and assisting them.

Not right for any of them never mind Mickey Rourke.

you wouldnt say fake?? then please watch his fights with thomas mccoy and
    darrell miller.

both of them get "knocked out" without being hit. as a boxer myself i can tell when someone is just trying to survive( not trying to win) AND taking a dive.

i can only urge you to review these "fights"

If Rourke's fights are annulled because they smell like obvious fixes then there is a certain ATG who would need several of his fights erased from the record books.

See, thats one of his "claims". but i have seen about five of his 8 pro fights and i never seen him actually take a punch.

rourke uses this excuse to justify him getting plastic surgery.

well, that may be so. but take jake lamotta for example. sure, he threw his fight with blackjack billy fox.............but he was still a legit pro boxer right?? no one would argue with lamotta that he was a pro boxer right??

but as far as i know, mickey rourke mickey rourke never had a legit pro boxing match in his life.

and yet this guy gets to claim that he used to be a pro boxer. and that is just so injust.

they did look a bit fishy but in the end: it's mickey rourke. it's not like he had a hall of fame career or acclaim that should be righted. barely anyone knows he boxed and those that do, don't care

well, i disagree.as a boxer myself i kinda take offense when people claim to be boxers (let alone pro boxers) without this being the case.

its an insult to every legit pro boxer out there.

fair enough. the question has been asked though: should ALL sketchy fights be annulled?

All except for Muhammad Ali's and Mark Gastineau's. They were the real deal. ;)

sure, thats a good question. but while this question is related to mickey rourkes case, i still think this case somewhat different.

it is bad enough when a pro boxer takes part in a fixed fight.

but in this case you have a guy who never had a legit pro boxing match.

it is almost as if boxrec would list charlie zelenoff as being 31-0. its bad enough that he is listed as 0-1 (meaning that he is listed at all)
