I'm watching Leo Santa Cruz's last fight. I've seen his previous 3 fights, this year. I'm sure people notice whenever he is out of range, he drops both hands to his waist then brings them straight back up, probably hundreds of times over a 12 round fight. Has anyone noticed funny little habits like this other fighters have? This is a very noticable one.
Indeed. And we are always told by the commentary team that it means someone is hurt. I heard a great interview with Iceman Scully earlier this year when he recalled smiling after being hit by Michael Nunn, because he realised he Nunn coulden't hurt him. Quiete a common thing, which can mean different things. I remember once seeing JCC Sr clowning someone, such a rare thing for him to do.
Pacquiao also bangs his gloves together when he gets hit clean. [Edit: Unless he's KTFO] Mayweather shakes his head no when he makes someone miss sometimes, lol. That's all I can think of right now.
Allan Green would always look down at his front foot, as if to check and see if it was in the correct position, before engaging with his opponent. ESPN even asked him about this habit once in a FNF studio interview, but I forgot what his reasoning was. Strange. You can see him do it a lot in his fight with Miranda: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQkql7PHlto[/ame]
