    I told you that April was too soon Princess.There's no way under the circumstances that he could've taken the toughest fight of his life and one where he could well lose his belt at such short notice.
    And in case you think all Burns fans are sycophants who think every stroke his promoter or manager pulls is OK,check out one of many threads that will prove otherwise;

    And since I'm feeling generous,here's another little present for you;

    Prince why not wait until it's all said and done before you start accusing Ricky of ducking Broner?

    Princess has a point though mate.I mean who does this Burns guy think he is?
    Peasant isn't even with Al Haymon and isn't on HBO yet he has the cheek to rty and make some money?:yikes

    Cheeky dog should be paying for the chance to go to America and lose his belt.

    :lol: He's also not a part of #teamprinceN either :patsch

    In all seriousness, this is a natural fight, and I'm sure it'll happen. Wasn't Ricky going to travel for the Martinez fight before plans were changed and it was brought over here? I'm sure he'll be confident travelling to Vegas, he just needs a fight in between, to get his head in the fight place before taking on a guy like Broner.

    If (and when :hey) Ricky beats him, I think we'll see a similar situation to what happened with the hordes of Bute fans before the Froch fight

    Champagne post old chap!:clap:

    As far as I'm aware,Ricky was travelling because he was very fortunate to even get a shot,and Fishy pulled a last minute deal with more money for Roman.
    Might have been something to do with the promotion going tits up over there but forget exactly what happened mate.
    Worked out OK in the end.:D

    I would consider Broner a decent tune-up for Burns if he plans to compete at Euro-level. After he beats Broner, he can fight the true European lightweights who dominate the sport.

    :lol:It's as simple as that. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. Burns is more scared of Broner than a turkey is of an axe on thanksgiving.:yep

    Please don't be duped by the anti-Frank group on the Brit forum. They criticise everything Frank does. It is because of them idiots that Frank's surname is blanked out.

    Frank has done a brilliant job with Burns. Who cared about Ricky Burns two years ago? Frank and team Burns have built Ricky into a UK star on the verge a mega-fight.

    Not really. I think he knows Broner would be a horrible career move.

    400,000 punds is about $650,000. So, he needs about $1 million to meet his requirement. That's high, but not out of reach if he is able to bring in some UK TV money. He's not asking for the crown jewels.

    A 30 year old champion wanting a tuneup fight is a bit weak, though. The date is open, take it.

    I agree that people forget what Alex and Frank did with Ricky because I met Ricky for the first time in 2006 and after his second loss a bit later,he was down as damaged goods but Alex stuck by him and that's a big reason why Ricky is so loyal to him.He was only able to remain a full time pro because of Alex and as it turned out,Alex's long relationship with Frank paid great dividends.
    But I do fear that they will hold Ricky back in their eagerness to remain in full control,and I know this is a subject close to your heart TG so as there are people hating on Ricky just because he's British here I'll keep our difference of opinion for the Brit forum where we can remain civilised even if others don't.
    I refuse to indulge in xenophobic nonsense given that I have a great deal of admiration for many American boxers and public figures.And it's more ironic because were Ricky an American,he would be bigger than Pavlik was,given that he is one of the most humble people in the game and even keeps a Saturday job to remain grounded.
    There's nothing to hate about the guy and it only shows how clueless many of the people spouting their bull**** are on the subject.

    one hundred per cent as stated above.

    Cant blame him either.Burns looks great at the weight but boxing is all about levels and burns is a good champion against potentially a superstar.Burns wants to maximise his income before taking on a fight he cannott win.

    Genuinely dont think goes 6 rounds.Broner all day.
