I think it has somewhat to do with Muslims getting bad press because of previous atrocities. Since the 9/11 and London underground bombings, many people (including a lot of white people) have pointed fingers and lost respect for Muslims. This just helped ignite further hatred for Muslims/Asians.

If people already disliked Asians, then the war, and issues in the middle east, would not have helped the cause. Problem is, the racists are ignorant of the perpetrators involved in 9/11 and the London bombings. The majority of the Islamic extremists involved in them atrocities were born in the Middle East, not in Asia. But because of this ignorance, all Muslims are tarred with the same brush.

Think of all the big mouth boxers out there that lose. They get nowhere near the same amount of hate that Khan receives. The sad thing is, most of these racists are white people from the U.K. Most of the comments of racism I've read have been from our very own people. You will get racists in every country, but it seems more apparent here in Britain.
