How did the supremely shot Roy Jones Drop Joe Calzaghe?

I thought that Calzaghe was a beast? But gets dropped by 50 year old RJJ and 60 year old hopkins?

I can't imagine what would happen if Calzaghe faced a prime G man.

    Slapper Clapper is a fraud.

No he wasn't. You only started watching Calzaghe when he annihilated Jeff Lacy.

The guy you said was gonna be the next big thing.

Actually the first time I saw him was against Reid then back tracked prior and then continued on ..And I never thought or said Jeff was going to be the next big thing ,hell I picked Joe to beat him based on Lacy's performance against Sheika before he fought Joe .I actually thought Sheika should have won ..He made Jeff look like an amateur !

This is obviously a trolling thread but I tend to agree.

Watson, Eubank, Benn, Jones, Hopkins, Toney & Mclellan in their prime all beat Calzaghe in his prime. Even today's top two in Ward and Froch at their best beat him also.

There is no denying Calzaghe had a fairly complete skill set which enabled him to outpoint a lot of opponents, but he didn't have the physical advantages to stand up to a war against any of the above opponents in their prime - nor has he proved himself in such a fight IMO; Lacy was completely overrated for instance. Calzaghe's best result was against Kessler, but even then he was on the canvas - someone like Froch would have overwhelmed him in this situation IMO.

Mcellan in particular is an interesting reference - there is absolutely no chance Calzaghe wins that fight...

Calzaghe is the only opponent Hopkins has knocked down in ten years.

I think you're overrating Gerald McCllelan. Calzaghe would beat the G-Man. Calzaghe beats a prime Benn also.

Roy hit Joe with his wrist, completely by accident. Probably a good thing for Joe too, had Roy connected with his knuckles, it might have been lights out. Prime Roy was not gunshy, had better reflexes, just shows you how dangerous Roy was, not only to Calzaghe but anyone.

What about Joe v Mike Mccallum? Or is the bodysnatcher too far past his best at 168?
