aye well according to you anyway :good

i understand where your coming from man, and i do tend to agree with you about being the main man etc.

but you simply cannot deny that someone who has a belt is a world champion. they won their title fights, they are champions whether you like it or not. and burns is a 2 weight world champ. history books and official records tell you that. to deny him that is lunacy imo.

they are the champion of that respective body, whehter it is meaningful or not in your eyes, they are world champions. :good

It is a subject that will be dabated for years to come. :good

It's hard for me to keep up with all the belts because their are so many of the bloody things, its got to the stage now where you have silver titles, super titles even champions in recess?

I tend to ignore them as it is the only way of keeping a lid on my general sanity.

there are a ridiculous amount on show, but the world ones are the only ones i pay attention to :good

i agree you do get the main man, then the champions.

but they are still world champions.

burns isn't the main man at lw.. yet..

To do that he has to beat Broner, the chance won't be there forever. Once either of them loses, the appeal of their fight goes.

How many big fights have been ruined from promoters/fighters trying to drag it out to make it as big as possible? Just look at Gamboa-Juanma

The most pathetic version of this is

Wladimir - WBA SUPER HW Champion
    Povetkin- WBA HW Champion

Why the **** do we need 2 Champions in the same division for the same organisation.

Then theres the Interim title holders :patsch

Shouldn't Burns jump at the chance to fight Broner and become the top man then?

aye m8, hopefully, all going well, they can get it on about spring/summer time. then we can put this to bed once and for all, and find out who truly is the main man.

well aye, but i have respect for their decision to have another fight first, then get it on with broner in the states after that.

really can't see everyone's problem with this, i actually think it's a smart decision.

the fight WILL happen, but it'll be when both are satisfied, and not when broner decides.

I don't seriously believe that this is anywhere near a duck by Burns, just poor management.

How is this delaying making Burns look to people who doubt him? Apart from the die hard Burns fans, the general Scottish public are going to want to get behind a guy who is wanting to take on all challengers and fight his way to the top.

Burns has the foundations there - beating Martinez on short notice - to become really popular. Unfortunately this business with Broner calling him out could harm that.

Why can't Burns be the one to come out and explain why he wants another fight pre-Broner? Doesn't help that all news about him seems to be dictated by his management team. They can say all they want about Burns being down to earth, but unless they get a connection with the man himself, the public aren't ever going to get behind him fully. That's what made Hatton so popular - he was always at the forefront, and people believed he was their man.

i know m8, totally agree :good would be good if burns himself, or even his trainer on here could spell it out in black and white what's happening, but sadly the chances of that are next to nil.

for all we know, talks could still be going on about this feb 16th date, as no opponents have been announced yet, that could explain the silence, guess it's just a waiting game the now m8 :think

The problem is, they way it's being handled, the more people are going to say he's ducking Broner.

If Burns announces another opponent and doesn't personally come out and say Broner is next, that just gives Broner more ammunition to say he's ducking.
