Adamek vs Cunningham II this Sat. night...Why doesn't anyone care???

Cause no 1 cares about either fighter

 

I have a real hard time picking the winner in this one. I consider to put some money on Cunningham, cos I don´t think he is as big underdog as the odds show. But I´m just not sure he will win.

Please help me and let me know who win AND why?

Why do I think that Cunningman wins:

- He outboxed Adamek in the first fight and now when Adamek is bigger, he is also slower and Cunningham should have easier job in outboxing him. Adamek has now getting used to fight big slow man, who pick their shots. Now he is again facing a quick boxer, who throws a lot of punches. Might be hard to adjust to.

- Althought bout boxers have had tough fights, I see Cunningham as the fresher man. Adamek took a horrible beating from Klitschko and that must have taking something of off him. After that he faced two boxers who did not throw nearly as many punches as Cunningham and then he was knocked down by Walker. I just have a feeling that Adamek is getting tired and old. So many tough fights. He has 20 bouts more that Cunningham. And I think that these heavyweight bouts take more out of him than the tough cruiserweight bouts that Cunningham has been in.

- Speed difference. Cunningham was the quicker man in the first fight and after that Adamek has been builted to be a heavyweight. He has slowned down, altought he still looks quick against heavyweights. Cunningham has been used to fight quick guys, quicker that the heavyweight Adamek.

Why do I still have a feeling that Adamek night very well stop Cunningham?

- Cunninghams weak spot is his chin and the fact that cos of his activity he takes a lot of hard shots. Adamek dropped him 3 times in their first fight and now Adamek is a lot stronger. He is 20 pounds heavyer and he has hurt much bigger guys. He should have even better chances of hurting Cunningham this time.

Well, Cunningham has never been stopped.


So, will Cunningham outbox the slowned Adamek or will Adamek will be too strong for Cunningham?

 

I made a modest bet on Cunningham for many of the reasons you stated. One more for Cunningham is that Adamek has become more mobile and less of a pure pressure fighter since their last fight. That might make Adamek a better fighter overall, but Cunningham is going to still be the better boxer by a wide margin. And any time they spend moving around and at distance is time in which Cunningham is unlikely to be KOd, which is the big fear.

Another point for Adamek, however, is that he generates plenty of money and Cunningham generates none. I'm not a very big conspiracy guy, but, like, when you look at the scores Adamek got against Chambers, you can't dismiss it completely.

Still, I think Cunningham has a better than 1 in 3 shot, so it's worth a try.

 

Eddie, Thanks for checking out my thread! I have to disagree with ya, though. Adamek will win this fight. Maybe easier than their 1st encounter.

OK....first off......no one said Adamek takes the path of least resistance. But he couldve gotten Solis for this fight. Obviously Cunningham was his choice as I predicted.

Also.....I never said Adamek was scared of Jennings. Wrong Polish guy. That would be Szpilka. And I highly doubt Artur is afraid, but rather his team is smart to avoid that fight that Peltz and Jennings all but begged for.

Kindof glad it didnt happen though....Im growing fond of Szpilka and I wouldnt have been able to see him come through like he did vs McCline....GRAND SHOW OF HEART, and Jennings got Liakovich, a much more valuable scalp. :good

What I did say was that Adamek has taken more winnable fights this latest run. There's no Arreola. No Grant. No Golota.

He's smartly working his way into a fight with Wlad (Wlad can take a voluntary after Potevetkin) or he'll fight for the vacated title or interim title once Potvetkin gets his ass kicking.

Theres still more than a few of us who believe Solis is a top 5 HW, and capable of ruling the roost if he can get healthy and active.

Adding Adamek to his resume would do great things for Odlanier, namely, get him a date with Wlad or Pulev.:thumbsup

 

He could school Adamek and still lose on points. Judges love Adamek's work rate.

Of course, by espousing this opinion, we're revealing our anti-Eastern European bias.

(let alone that Huck is a Serb, and last I checked Serbia is not only part of Eastern Europe but directly ****ing due south of Poland...)

 

Theyd have to love it enough to reverse a 20 ct KO. Solis would give Adamek a Maskaev/Rahman type KO.

The only difference between today and then is the fact that Adamek has overachieved at HW and that has caused you to have an agenda for some odd reason.

 

It was a HUGE deal when they first fought in 2008, but that was when they were at or near their peaks and arguably the two best cruiserweights in the world. Now, both are likely past their peaks, and fighting at heavyweight, where Adamek is legit Top Ten but way below the Klitschkos, and Cunningham probably has no business at this weight. That said, I still plan to watch it, and at cruiserweight, the winner of this would no doubt get a title shot.
