    deadright..
...and I'd throw Mundine against Ottke in there too..considerin' Mundine was 10 fights into a pro fight career with **** all amateur experience..up against abloke with over 300 amateur fights and by the time they fought Mundine would be his 14th defense of his world title..then Ottke goes on to defend another 9 times and retire undefeated...that's not too shabby..
..then take into account that Mundine was actually winning when he got stopped..he was a kunt hair away from one of the greatest feats ever by a aussie sportsman..
..gotta give credit where it's due..

It was still embarrassing watching RJJ put both hands behind his back and give Kelly a free shot at him and then KO him.
I remember b4 the RJJ Green fight when Glen was asked about who he thought would win he laughed and said RJJ would be way to classy for Green, after the fight he told a reporter that it was such a shame to see Roy lose he was almost crying..i pissed myself laughing he was upset that the guy who molested him got raped by Greeny:patsch
As for Shannon at least he went into the fight trying to win and it was a gutsy effort if you ask me and i doubt many ppl would of got up after that devastating KD by Mosley.
As opposed to Kelly who went into his shell before a punch had even been thrown i remember Fenech ripping into him in the corner saying FFS at least have a go son!

    :good Spot on mate.

A lot of people conveniently over look all of those facts, and yes at the end of the day he did lose, nothing to be ashamed of though in books.

people understate mundines experience before he started boxing.

he grew up in his dads gym. he was good enough to be an aus junior and senior amature champ from any time in his life. he didnt compete, he just sparred and trained. he was a well schooled fighter BEFORE he had his first pro fight.

by the time he fought ottke he was nearly peaking.he has NEVER GOT ANY BETTER THAN THAT NIGHT. are you saying he is better than ottke now? or ever has been?

no, he fought ottke at his peak, was getting beaten on the cards, and was KO'd. the ONLY arguement you may have is that he was lacking 12rnd match practice. but 3 months before, went 12 rounds with sam soliman.....and sam was always in your face. so in fact mundine DID have 12 rnd experience.

when mundine went to sleep, he was behind on the cards. no doubt he fought a great fight. he put it to sven. no doubt. but mundine WAS NOT a novice. he was born and raised in a gym.

he was already peaking when he fought ottke. he has never become better than the fighter that got kod by ottke. to say so would be to say he became better than ottke, which he never did.

You are way off, sparring in the gym and competing in the amatuers are very different. I don't think Mundine was sparring world class fighters before turning professional. You could tell from Mundine Soliman 1 that Mundine's match fitness was a problem he gased late in the fight the same way he did against Ottke, he should of been ahead againts Ottke as the 2 point deduction was bogus also he had Ottke down which was not scored a knock down.

The Mundine who fought Green & Soliman 2 would have KO'd Ottke IMO as he was a much better fighter in those 2 fights then he was in his fight with Ottke.

bull****.. the mundine that fought soliman 2, green and even geale would have schooled the mundine that fought ottke. it was unreal how good he looked in the soliman 2 fight. its one of the most poised performances ive ever seen.

none of you present a decent arguement.

but i challenge you this; find out who wrote mundines match plan for soliman 2, a plan that mundine actually followed and executed..........

it was probably mundines greatest ever tactical performance, engineered by the greatest tactician he has ever worked with.

from my personal point of view, nasser appreciates, and understands quality input. but he was never the driver of who directed anthony tactically.:deal

..mate..we all know Mundines background..that is not in dispute..but at the end of the day he had a red hot crack against a future Hall of Famer..(is Ottke aready in there?..dunno..)..all i'm sayin' is that his effort was not a embarassment as others have aluded too..like or hate the guy..it was very credible challenge no matter which way we cut it..:good

no embaresment at all. he just wasnt a 10 fight novice everyone makes him out to be. he was a well schooled fighter, good enough to go to the olympics had he chosen to at age 19.
