Will Lucas Matthysse end up like Marcos Maidana?

I never said Amir Khan would be Matthysses hardest fight. I said Matthysse shouldn't be rated a lot higher than Khan, Rios, and Garcia.

i've also considered that Matthysse is another Maidana. I could only hope that he does not fall in that direction. we shall see in time.
i actually like the idea of him knocking out everyone at jr welter, and doing the same at welter (which by then Pac and Marq will probably be done, maybe Money too).
Hell, let's start a Lucas vs. Canelo compaign

lucas has more skills, but we havent seen him in a brawl where a guy is matching him blow for blow and he simply out-guts him. the fight with that african dude did not show that. he was beating the **** out of him.

the kid is the real deal. I love watching him fight. He has gotten much better over the last year, shown a great chin and his body work is second to none. No hype at all. I think he'll end up cleaning out the division at 140.

I don't see Matthysse on the Pacquiao Cotto killer level. I don't think he'll ever get to be as good as Pacquiao was. Which is nothing to take away from him but i do feel he isn't invincible.

I think with a lot of fighters like him his power can dazzle people. I think now Matthysse might be realizing he has to change his gameplan a bit. He may have learned something from Sergio Martinez.

The thing is with these knockout artists. If they can't knock you out a lot of the time they cannot change their gameplan. Andre Ward can do it and Sugar Ray Leonard can do it. But not many are near their level. And Matthysse is not a classical boxer, and is not an elite level boxer. Fortunately for him there's no Ray Leonards in his division.

I think he might come unstuck when he fights a boxer mover but i think Amir Khan is used to coming out fast against an opponent since he started with Freddie Roach. I think Roach give him a lot of positives and helped him in an offensive direction when he would come out fast and try and knock a guy out. Like he tried with Maidana and Garcia. Amir Khan i think was more disciplined and trained harder for Maidana than he did for Garcia. He seemed much more focused going into that fight than he did with Danny Garcia even though it ended in four rounds.

Amir Khan might improve drastically with Virgil Hunter. I think Khan can adapt fairly quickly but a lot of the boxing traits he learned from the amatuers may be engraved into him. I think from watching Khan his footwork and his stance needs to be improved. He did look like he made improvements in the Molina fight but that isn't really saying much due to his competition.

And about Ajose Olusegun. He would cause Garcia some trouble for a few rounds but would get caught. I think it would be hard for Garcia to time Ajose with his movement but his hands low style would be a factor in this fight. Garcia would catch Ajose moving.

But come on your acting like overhyped crispy chicken Danny and china chined Amir are better and based off recent fights I have to disagree

Danny's power is overated anyone in the top 5 can knock out morales.
Also mattyhsse is a solid boxer and in 2013 you will change your mind about him I bet.

I think they're around the same level or near the same level. I think Garcia is actually underrated.

The good thing about the 140 division there's a few style clashes.

I think Ajose Olusegun from what i saw in the in Colin Lynes fight. From seeing him in person and then watching him fight Matthysse i didn't see any improvement in Ajose. The actual only improvement i saw really was his strength. His conditioning had improved but not by much.

Which is a thing with offensive type boxers who want to pressure you from the opening bell. They tend to gas out and have stamina issues in the later rounds more so than a slower paced boxer.

The only chance I think to beat Matthysse is to run and potshot he's on another level in terms of toughness

Yeah, I know. I think Rios also underestimates Khans abilities from a technical standpoint. I think Khan could outbox Rios to a comfortable UD, but i also think Rios could knock him out early.

Rios is another boxer who needs to work on his defense. Offensive brawler types cut their careers shorter.

Garcia was getting hism ass whooped against khan until that ear shot landed and morales did lots of damage in the 1st fight now if Lucas was to fight either one well .....

That's exactly what Khan can do. I do feel you're overrating him. Amir Khan is a better boxer than him technically. That shouldn't be too difficult for you to swallow.
