There'll be a purse bid in February 2013, that's when we will know exactly when the fight will happen.

The WBA offers a special permit to the winner of a purse bid in order to 'delay' the fight by three months after a purse bid deadline. That's totally normal and acceptable since it takes about three months to stage a fight (venue, TV stations, press conferences etc.).

Where has K2 said they're asking for a special permit to avoid Povetkin? :patsch

Wlad should take the fight as a tune up, that's all Povetkin would be really. He might be the best opponent on paper, but in reality this would be a very easy fight for Klitshko.

Povetkin is a great fighter, but he does not have the physical specs to beat Wlad. He's not a big puncher, and he tends to win by sheer determination. Wlad is too elusive for Povetkin to land anywhere near enough punches to wear him down.
Chamber's has very little power, but he caused a lot of swelling to Povetkin's face, even though Povetkin dominated most of the fight. Wlad's jab alone would probably be enough, to shut Povetkin's eyes, after a few rounds.

WBA has already started negotiations. They have a deadline of Januray 17th. It will go to puse bids if the two sides can't come to an agreement.

Box scene reported the WBA are making it very difficult for Wlad to revieve a permit to opt out of the fight.

Bernd Bounty has said they dont want the fight.

Secondly the match we are discussing is between two olympic gold medal winners one of whom is undefeated and the other is consensus linear champ for half a decade! A natural fight that should be made...a bit like Byrd v Lewis back in the early 00's! Stop whining hater...

    It's a photoshopped Shaunster's avatar and I thought it's a funny one so I took it.

And I'm not giving you an answer to your first question, others will understand why.

If it comes to purse bid on Jan 17th I dont think the fight will happen before end of march/early april but never on Feb 26th.. this is too short on time, 6 weeks??

But Povetkin did not want to fight Wlad.

He refuses two times!!! He could get the biggest payday of his career.

    No he hasn't said that.

Also the WBA can't start negotiations as they're not a party in the negotiations, they can only set deadlines. You're completely clueless as to the whole process, yet you're making grand explanations of things you don't understand.

Fight is going to happen End of May/Early June as explained by Kalle Sauerland. Sauerland himself (and not K2) says he himself wants the purse bid and that negotiations won't bring a result. But yet you're blaming it on K2

"An agreement is probably not possible. We want to bring the purse bid and the fight with our sponsors to our TV station ARD," said Sauerland.

This entire thread is pure BS. Not a shred of evidence of K2 trying to avoid the Povetkin fight.
