I didnt see the fight that way to be honest, I saw Manny start faster but Marquez dropping him drew manny into the type of fight Marquez was looking for it was Manny who gave Marquez the opportunities needed to score that knock out And you are right Marquez is on the decline both are, so again I ask what makes you think Broner is going to be a cakewalk for Marquez? I just do not see it.
Its just a bad style match up for JMM. JMM is a great fighter dont get me wrong but a fighter like Broner doesnt play "Chin" like JMM. Its the equivalent of having an airforce, army and navy as where JMM just has a good army. Hence why JMM couldnt do **** with Floyd who doesnt play "Chin" in the ring neither. Floyd and Broner's generic Floyd style is just to dynamic for any rockem sockem fighter. Hit and not get hit is too much for get hit to hit.
Mayweather's skills obviously came into play, but Mayweather dominated due to his size advantage. If they were the same size, it would have been a much closer fight. Broner also has a size advantage and could use his legs to avoid Marquez' assaults, which is not how Marquez typically fights anyway, as he is most comfortable countering his opponents. If Broner plays Marquez' game and follows him around the ring, he may get hit with a shot he doesn't see, and depending on his chin, that may be the beggining of the end. The reason Mayweather won is because he used his foot movement and reach advantage, while declining to engage. He never stayed in one place, but even when he did, his size was so much that Marquez was unable to sustain a quality attack. Don't get me wrong, Mayweather's defense had a lot to do with this, but Broner has a tendency to stand and trade more than Mayweather does. Broner is not on Mayweather's level concerning IQ. I think the tallent is there, and the tools are there, but he may not have the gameplan. If he puts it all together though, he could conceivably beat Marquez without much trouble, utilizing the same gameplan Mayweather did. Something else to keep in mind is Marquez was not on PEDs when he fought Mayweather. He's clearly on PEDs now which substantially enhances his recovery time which allows him to train harder.
Didnt read after a couple of sentaces. You clearly dont know **** about boxing and you reputation as a troll is already set. Marquez is a trench warfare type fighter with good flanks but its still in the realm of trench warfare a la even a Chris John out ring generaled JMM. Broner and Floyd type fighters dont resort to such a limited way of fighting and thus go beyond trench warfare. You can say it was size but it wouldnt of mattered even if Floyd was the smaller man that night. JMM couldnt do **** but look like a limited fighter. Against Manny you can make a case because Manny is a very flawed fighter who constantly makes ******ed mistakes such as leaving his feet. Against punching bags the style looks magnificient but against a fighter with any type of intelligence and movement.... well, you know.
They're equal in height, Broner has a few inches in reach, generally is flat footed, and we haven't seen him face anyone with elite skills. Picking Broner at this point is mere fanboyism. The left side of his body is so exposed and he hasn't perfected the roll to the extent he can time Marquez's overhand right. Pacquiao's straight left failed to keep Marquez down, but somehow Broner is going to do it to a 140lb+ Marquez?
to a 40 year old Marquez yes it can be done, you guys are making it seem like Marquez is un beatable after this win. thats not the case, the man had a better game plan and Pacquiao helped Marquez win that fight. No Strength and conditioning at all during camp, and Manny threw caution to the wind in this fight... he over committed in too many spots... you do that with a masterful counter puncher especially one who has given you 36 rounds of life or death, your going to have big problems. Broner will NOT fight that way he will box and make the counter puncher lead which is what Floyd did, the kid has good power good speed great reflexes, there is no way he is just going to throw caution to the wind here, he didnt with Demarco why would he with a better fighter? and sure Marquez is 140 However Broner is huge for even 135, he can make that move up to 140 easily the weight will not be an issue. sure after a win like Marquezs over Pacquiao most will pick Marquez to win but that doesnt mean he will I for one do not see it
Marquez being 39 years old and had been in wars with great fighters doesnt mean he will be losing to Broner or even get KOd! Broner's style is still flawed and he is no Floyd. Marquez is more SKILLED than Broner and if they ever fight, which could be a good fight at 140, Im calling a JMM KO broner!
JMM is too good for Broner. People forget the PDL fight. JMM would have the right gameplan to take him out. Hell Broner is not even hard to hit by average fighters. A sharp shooting counter puncher like Juan would set traps and hit him with big combinations and then Broner would run like he did with PDL. Broners style is similar to PBF but it is a poo mans version of it. His defense is nowhere near PBFs and he is not as big as PBF either. I think this would be similar to th Casamayor fight in which it was competitve but he ultimately got beat by a better fighter.
Nobody is suggesting Broner is going to lunge in like Pacquiao did. Irrelevant to the conversation. Broner doesn't have the height or the mobility of Floyd to make Juan lead without inviting mid-range set-ups. Between the two, Juan has timed better fighters, and feints a whole lot better. Once JMM gets in range, he won't be muscled out as easily, and I doubt Broner has the defense to deflect his best shots. Again, the right side of his body is always open, and he hasn't gotten the roll quite down yet. He's simply not Mayweather. And even if he makes 140 with no issue, is he going to hit harder than Pacquiao and Mayweather at 147? I doubt it. Marquez can get old overnight at any point and Broner is young and hungry, but there is nobody Broner has beaten to suggest he'd beat Marquez. Being a Floyd copycat isn't good enough.
JMM's weakness in this fight will be his speed which is horrible and his legs which to me are horrible also. By no means is Broner proven and I know his stlye is generic, no doubt, but handspeed alone with his sharp "straight" punches and quick left hook destroys JMM all day. No way JMM sets up his jab to set anything else up. JMM counters look good against Manny Pacquiao because Manny has horrible balance since he's always on his lead leg which means he can only move backwards not to mention he will throw horrible flurries and leave himself open for counters before regaining his footing, but against a Broner JMM has no chance to counter anything. The only punch JMM has a chance of landing is the overhand right but it will be thrown from the outside and mostly out of range if Broner decides to play pocket quarterback just like Floyd. JMM stands too tall and his center of gravity is too high to be effective not to mention he has wobbley spagetti legs against a more cordinated fighter like Broner or Floyd. JMM is just to out gunned for this one. People need to really watch fight 4 again and see just how horrible Manny leaves himself open wheter it be out of position or when he tries to throw left uppercuts now. Just a terrible fighter if you really watch him with an open mind.
I don't even know what to say. You're so focused on hating Pacquiao and diminishing Marquez's skillset and equating Broner's style to Floyd's that there's no getting through that. Broner is not going to out-maneuver Marquez. There is no reason to believe he would. Once they're in the pocket, he's not likely to muscle out Marquez the way Floyd did. And he's not going to tee off on Marquez at will, since his timing is inferior and Marquez will punch with him to land the better punches as the fight goes on. Pacquiao isn't the only fighter Marquez has beat, you know.
if jmm was younger this fight could have a chance. but juan might just retire now. i gotta go with juan . i still need to see more from broner but broner possible at the end of his career i mite say prime vs prime broner would win but hes still hasnt had the success and fight the level of fighters juan has. untill broner does that, then ill go with juan. and by time broner ready juan will have been retire for a good year or so. mostly because juan is fight at 147 maybe 140 . broner isnt at 140. he only had one at 135. so hes gunna stay at 135 for a little while.
