Hello there. I see you're living up to your award :smoke

and this win is pretty damn historic. Tarver's over Roy was pretty great, but I prefer this one because of the history between Juan and Pac.

Its definitely a big win, but in terms of "in the history of the sport", its definitely not that high. These are 2 greats were talking about here, you know? A great beating a fellow great is great, but I wouldnt rate it historically that high.

Something like Buster Douglass beating Tyson to me is a far better win for Douglas, because of how much better Tyson is than him. Or even Rahman beating Lewis. Lewis is an atg heavyweight, Rahman isnt close, so for him to get that kind of a win is better thatn for a great legend like Marquez getting a win over a fellow great in Pacquiao.

Again, im just talking about what the magnitude of the win means to the winner

    :think

I suppose Tarver-Jones does come to mind...wasn't around at the time though so I can't say how shocking it was. Also hard for me to say whether Jones or Manny ranks higher.

    ;)

When was Tarvers win over Roy?
    And was Jones peak?
    What weight was is at?

A massive factor in this is Juan is a LIGHTWEIGHT who was forced to move up to chase Pacquiao. He KOd this monster 2 weights above his natural weight class :yikes

Pac lost his previous fight against Tim and "lost" to JMM in their 3rd fight so that kind of lessens the significance of the win. Had this ko occurred in 2009, it would be one of the better wins in history.

Thats true, its not like we have a poor fighter beating a great fighter

But the two examples you bring up..... Well we all know Rahman KO Lewis was a hail mary. And Tyson was soon shown up losing several times after the Douglas shock

These two wins might have been more shocking, but they were no where near as historically impressive

Pac isn't prime, and people noted that before the fight even took place.

Also, look at the odds going into the fight. Jmm was only about a -225 underdog.

Marquez beat every version of Pacquiao, they said he was to green in the first 2 fights, so the little LW marquez schooled PAcquiao in the 3rd, the prime PAC, the not even god can save Marquez, the best training camp, WW PRIME PAC, this time it's personal! And Marquez schooled that ass in Pt. 3, then Marquez KTFO pac in pt. 4..

So PAc was green in the first 2, and passed prime in the last 2?

    THese *******s are beyond ******ed.

    MARQUEZ PAPA de PACQUIAO

    4-0

**** BS judges, marquez is the only one to have the clearest win in Pt 3, and Pt. 4.
