I'm not saying it's not true, but that edit was made today by a random from New Zealand without a Wikipedia account.
It pains me to say it but if he isn't already dead then he's likely very, very close to it. Steroids or not (lots of stories floating about over the years) he used to be a large, muscular man, with very young looks. Over a relatively short time he's REALLY aged, looking terrible even for a person 15 years his senior. Recent photos he seems gaunt, sick, malnourished, weak, the list goes on; so clearly there's something severely wrogn with his health. The whole HIV/AIDS talk seems pretty clear cut, though obvious we, as the general public, are denied any blank adn white document saying yes or no. Photos of his finger rotting, stick thin legs, lesions etc are a bit too coincidental with all of the HIV accusations in my opinion; this story about his wife/gf sound certainly feasible - i've seen on facebook and forums the odd message from her and she seems to come up with weird, almost ludicrous, stories to explain why he hasn't messaged himself. It's all very strange...
I don't tend to voice my opinions on here very much but reading these posts does show how far gossip develops. I don't have any updates from trisha to post but that may well be just because they would like a bit of privacy in what must be a difficult time. Id love to know what's happening as much as any fan would and I think its more out of concern for a sporting hero rather than some morbid fascination with tragedy hat we ask so many questions. Ultimately though we don't have to be told anything.
I will always have fond memories, but would like to know what is happening? As a fan of the sport that I love and one that he was apart of I do want to know.
Ya Hip C is pasted through blood to blood contact only. One of the main avenues of transmission is via used needles. Makes you wonder about his Steriods use being part of his disease development.
The purplish lesions on his R forearm are Kaposi Sarcoma. He developed a fairly large abdomen in 2007 consistent with lipodystrophy after sustained antiretroviral treatment. He had documented T cell counts of 3 and 18 just prior to that. He's likely dead.
Man, I don't know how much of what's been posted is truth and what's trolling, but if he really has passed, it's incredibly unfortunate that he hasn't had a proper send off from the boxing community.
The above pic is older than dec 2011 I can assure you. Last I spoke with trisha duke was in rehab, he was gaining weight, eating well and making slow but good progress
