How did khan get a sponsership deal with JD sports after 2 losses in a row?

Now before i start this is not a khan bashing thread or anything. Infact im a fan of the guy. Anyway, i was wondering why a huge company like jd is sponsering a loser? I mean it would make alot more sense to sponser a guy like froch, brook or even clev. Anyone have any idea how he got such a big sponser?

Because he is still a massive name, the average person in the street wouldnt recognise brook, clev n maybe even froch but most non boxing fans in the uk know who khan is

Because Khan's popularity is big in the UK, because of his success from the olympics when no one else won a medal, even the winners of this years olympics from britian wont have the same popularity because their have been multiple winners. plus with him being from a asian backround he also has brought that side of the community into boxing. people who don't watch boxing know who Amir Khan is. while not many people would know Brook or Froch outside boxing.

It's true that the casual fan's know who Amir Khan is, the only saving grace is that many of them also think he's a ****.

I can take heart from that.

No it wouldn't. Froch can beat Calzaghe and Ward but that doesn't mean he'd get a good sponsorship.

Like others said, he's known to casuals, he does various TV appearances, he works with charities, and despite what every **** says about him being this and that, he's a good person.

Because people make threads, talk, watch, hate, like, root for/against and all that ****!

He lost a few times now but he is still a blindingly good boxer when he keeps his cool, sticks to a sensible plan and doesn't get caught.

he is an arrogant twat, but that's one thing he is - a very giving kind person and at least no one can take that and his boxing achievements away from him.

Based on what, man? The perception of everyone else, who haven't ever met him?

I've met the guy and he's nothing of the sort. Just like everyone who meets him, they'll say he's not. Go on Seckbach's channel and see what his stable mate has to say. They'll all say he's nothing like that and a very humble individual.

Everyone's just a sheep in this damn world, always taking word of mouth from others and going by what they hear. You've gotta meet him to make that sort of judgement. Ignorant at times would be a good way to put him, but not so much an arrogant person.

Khan could lose his next 25 fights by knockout and he'd still be ''boxing superstar Amir Khan''.

Even people who's opinions I respect, like Barry McGuigan, said after the Garcia defeat that ''this proves he's not infallible''.

    No ****

He's got three defeats on his record, two journeymen in Prescott and Peterson, and then to a middling titlist in Garcia. All three of them would have been hammered in pretty brutal fashion by someone like Ricky Hatton.

Forget the guys on the next level, like Marquez, Mosley etc.

    Imagine Marquez vs Peterson..... :yikes

he's a big name thats why

he is a nice bloke no doubt about that, people say he is arrogant but i think its more his stupidity which makes him come across this way, he seems like he doesnt have many bad bones in his body or i have never seen an evil side of khan yet
