I was being sarcastic. Floyd hasn't fought for legacy since Oscar, don't expect him to any time soon.

Cotto was a good fight. Marquez, who was considered a joke opponent by almost all Pacquiao fans(myself not included), surely has proven to be worthy, hasn't he?

Just remember what the **** they were when they fought..end of their careers with mulitple losses before and after they fought..
Gatti, Oscar, Hatton, JMM, Mosley, Cotto

but dumbasses will look at the "name only" and assume that means a damn thing

Do people think Trevor Berbick was an all time great? he beat Muhammad Ali?

do people think Danny Williams and Kevin McBride were all time heavyweight beasts because they beat Mike Tyson? my point exactly, now shut up

Cotto came like 4 years or so after it should have happened.

He fought Marquez when Cotto , Mosley, Pacquiao, Margarito were active in the division at the time, and Marquez had never even fought at WW. :!:

Mosley was really the first legit, real opponent who he was supposed to fight, and he did. The problem is he waited 1 1/2 years while Mosely was in limbo and already pushing 40. That fight could have happened years earlier when Mosley was begging for the fight.

Every other win he's had from the Oscar fight onward there was a better, tougher opponent out there for him.

Mayweather just doesnt care anymore, he just fights for spending money for a year. He garbage. The cotto victory was a good win, but if that counts as his toughest fight, which it doesnt Castillo 1 was, it doesnt speak well of him. He had a chance tobeat Pac's ass and a lot of these fighters. Mayweather is a complete waste of a brilliant fighter, who only fights for pocket change to be good for the year so he can live his life of a "ghetto rich" lifestyle.

Isn't it surprising, or hopefully somehow informative, that Cotto miraculously became an option as soon as he left Top Rank?

Margarito was active alright, remember the loaded gloves and suspension?, if that's not enough, he was a Top Rank fighter to boot. Cotto was a Top Rank fighter inked/planned for Pacquiao. Mosley became an opponent immediately after the Marquez tune-up. Marquez fought at welterweight, thanks to Mayweather, when he met Pacquiao for the third time, remember how tough and close that fight was? Remember how Marquez was generally overlooked(even by me) going in against Pacquiao because of his performance against Mayweather? Think it's fair to say he looked bad because of Mayweather's fighting style, the weight wasn't the only issue in that ring. :D

The Top Rank / Bob Arum excuse is getting old. Floyd clearly had no intention of working with him or fighting anyone from that side. He's been pretty content in having Golden Boy feed him hyped up, b-level champions.

Mosley wasn't with Top Rank and he was chasing Floyd for years.

Years earlier when Mosley was begging for the fight? No offense, but that's some nonsensical bull**** right there.

Regarding the opponents he could have fought from the Oscar fight onward, I'm sure my post above addresses those names you mentioned openly. It's easy to type in names for opponents yet it's not as easy to look at things objectively. If Mayweather stayed with Top Rank in 2007 to fight Margarito, people would have said he's ducking Oscar at 154! If he dumped Top Rank to make the Oscar fight, he's ducking Margarito! If you're going to overlook circumstance and situation regarding certain fights happening, it's your own simplistic view. Fact is, it's irrational to overlook promotion, management, contractual agreements, situation and politics behind certain fights happening or not. Is it a coincidence that almost all of Pacquiao's opponents have been Top Rank fighters?

Nah, he's to busy embracing the "O" on his record to fight any real challengers.

It's pocket change for him, as he waste it all in one year. I believe everything Fiddy says about Mayweather in this respect, the guy only fights when his money starts to go out, because boxing is his only source of income. The way he spends, gambling, bringing a million to a strip club, buying new cars, etc, he needs to fight at least once a year to continue his lifestyle. I guess the only upside is his success will bring more kids into boxing, and they will want to adopt aspects of his fighting style, which is good for boxing as a science. You see pressure fighters/punchers trying to adopt defensive abilities because of mayweather.

The best is mostly subjective.. Anyone Mayweather fights, he's ducking someone else. I'm sure he's figured that out a long time ago, and decided he'd take on good opposition for a lot of money. Some say Canelo is a better fight, some say Guerrero. Never will everyone be united on a proper opponent for him, so he'll always have people saying he ducked.. Why would he give a **** at this point?

It's not getting old, there was clearly a big problem with Top Rank/Bob and Mayweather/Goldenboy. They can't even make fights with each other now. Can you not see this? If cotto and all those fighters were with Golden Boy things would have been different, mind you I still think the pac fight could have happened. Mayweather pushed for it a lot, and Bob stopped it all. But I blame Mayweather also, because he couldve made the fight happened had he humbled himself and just gave pac respect and let him have a bigger share. Thats all.
