True - I took it as a given that we were putting them in the same basic container, ala a fist and an open palm.

The lead v feathers thing is an extreme example, and doesn't translate well to this. A pound of lead will have a considerably higher density, i.e. smaller size for its weight, so will have less air resistance - hence higher terminal velocity. A pound of feathers would just separate and float all over the place. If the feathers were in a sealed plastic bag, they would still have a different effect on a human due to the length of time that it takes for the transfer of momentum of the bag to the person's head. A rapid transfer of momentum creates a more sudden change in velocity in the head (i.e. ideal for KO).

To translate that to slap v punch. A slap is 'slightly' more cushioned than a punch, so even with the same momentum behind it, the transfer of momentum would take place over slightly different lengths of time. With that in mind, all other things being equal, I don't think it is unreasonable to expect that a punch would be slightly more likely to result in a KO.

Open hand striking is definitely much better than a fist when you don't have gloves on.

Go for the 'thunderclap', double slap to the ears as hard as you can. Basically tangoing someone. I've seen folk go down like a sack of **** from that move.

my cousin burst my uncles ear drum doing that. used to do it to people at school, got it done to me too. proper ****ing sore.

me and my mae used to slap eachother at random times for a laugh, one day he caught me with my mouth open and i swear down i was jelly legged and felt mlike my jaw had cracked!

With all due respect, that is simply not true.

You can knock someone out cold with a slap if its hard enough.

You can even search youtube and find many slap knockouts. Usually its a sucker slap, or there is a size deficit, but its definitely possible.
