You can't be talking about the same Moorer.

Mike Boden is the first Southpaw under Queensberry rules that I have been able to find. He was a stocky, journeyman heavyweight.

    Freddie Miller accomplished a lot.

Mose Butch was a tough southpaw and a top 10 featherweight who fought 'em all in the 1930s. Fidel LaBarba won a decision over Butch in his (Fidel's) final bout. He had a ton of praise for him.

    Lew Tendler. Nuff said.

Lou Brouillard and Melio Bettina have to be two of the strongest, most rugged southpaws p4p ever. Both were nightmares to fight.

Hardest-hitting p4p southpaw may be George "KO" Chaney. Like Bob Satterfield, he could dish it good, but not take it so good.

Maybe I missed it, but why no love for Marvelous Marvin Hagler? He was one of the best southpaws I've ever seen fight.

I saw mention of his brother Robbie Sims and an opponent Mustafa Hamsho.

Herol Graham was an excellent southpaw.
His style would have been very frustrating even if he'd done it orthodox.

I took it for granted that the thread starter had possibly heard something about Marvin Hagler during his time as a boxing fan, which is why I didn't mention him.

I know Moorer mostly relied on his right hand, but I saw a photo of Moorer digging a vicious left hand to Bonecrusher Smith's body during their fight. The look of anguish on Smith's face was so vivid that it always stuck with me. While its true his left hand to the body wasn't the best punch of that kind I guess that image was so unforgettable that I came to reimagine Moorer as a great body puncher, which you're right, he wasn't.

Wayne Braithwaite didn't have great skills but he hit like hell out of a southpaw stance. His losing battle with Guillermo Jones was jaw dropping in its brutality. That's another forthe list of occasional southpaw wars if it qualifies (Wayne was a lefty but he liked to switch back and forth).
