If Sergio wants to prove he can make 154 he should fight Trout

Trout would gladly fight him at 154. By doing this Sergio would actually show people he can make the weight. Right now I am very skeptical somebody that weights 180 30 days before a fight can make 154. And who wants a big fight ruined because a guy cant make weight? Plus he would have a belt at 154 if he were to win.

um last time I checked the only person who missed the weight was Broner and the show went on. Many fans were afraid the show would not go on but thank god for Al Haymon. Nobody would want to see a fighter miss weight and a mega fight not happen. Sergio needs to prove to the people he can make 154

 

That's actually an amazing idea as Trout is a legit 154lb'er, and we'll see how good Martinez really is at 154lbs, or if he's weakened too much, because let's face it, he walks around at 180lbs and wants to beat Mayweather who comes into the light middleweight ring as a welterweight lol

I feel you want Nartinez to beat Trout so Canelo won't have to fight him , but I agree Martinez should have a fight at 154 lbs against Trout or Canelo to show he can make weight and still fight effectively at 154 lbs, because I have a feeling that if he is made to go down in weight and gets beat the fighter that beat him wont get much credit same way Dawson vs Ward.

Anyway I wonder if his knee injury he picked up will affect his ability to use his footwork in the ring aswell as he did before.

 

This thread is to say how Floyd would fight him if he would beat Trout at 154??? Floyd would never fight Sergio NEVER, Floyd isnt even natural 154 fighter and Sergio would be to big for him on fight night, get this fight out of your heads, and i'm a Floyd fan.
Canelo should call Sergio to come down to 154 but his team knows Sergio would school him...

So a fight from two years ago where he wasn't actually 180 and where he nevertheless made the sub-160 catchweight is the best you can do.

Which fight makes Martinez a more appealing opponent for Mayweather: another widely watched win at middleweight against Chavez or a poorly attended fight against Trout?
