Why was Pacquiao so out of position when he was ko'd?

Pac came in with a 1-2 a bit off angle, JMM predicted it, leaned over and lined up a right hand for Manny to run into. That combined with Pacquiao getting his foot caught up in the last second and losing his balance created a huge impact of two objects coming together. Basically a double jeopodary shot . It would have knocked out anybody.

it took marquez a hell of a lot of rounds to eventually time pacquiao like that.

if it was easy, it would have happened a long time ago from any number of opponents who are supposedly bigger punchers than marquez

 

One of the things Nacho said afterward was that he did'nt like Marquez eating the type of leather he did this time around. He noted however that it was because of the corruption of the previous fights to chose to gameplan for a KO and if at all possible, take it from the hands of the judges.
Nacho said something to the effect, "we had Marquez keeping the fight at mid-distance so that he had a chance to get his punches off with better force, because of this, he risks the chance of eating heavy leather himself."

Under the circumstances Nacho found it necessary Marquez fight in that mode, but otherwise it would have been fight 3 all over again for Pacquiao with Marquez boxing the crap out of him, Pacquiao unable to guage to find Marquez to land heavier shots.

 

There's lots of factors people dismiss and ignore.
Like Marquez having loosened up and debilitated Pacquiao for that shot.

Marquez worked Pacquiao's body viciously from round 1 ti'll the end.

There were handfuls or right hands that landed hard and flush right on Pacquiao's face!
I mean heavy shots with the weight of Marquez' full body behind them.

That was the gameplan for fight 4 and it played dividends so that the judges did'nt have a say in all of this.

Sitting on your punches and throwing them with near full force does'nt come without risk for any fighter, especially vs one with the maniacal qualities of Manny Pacquiao.

Lets put it this way, had Pacquiao beaten Marquez, bogus or not, that would have put an end to the series. Marquez knew not to leave it in the judges hands if he could possibly help it and he gameplanned that way!

 

Juan got that nice combo in towards the last minute or so of that 6th round. It was a nice combo that made Pac reset, but after Pac reset he regained control.

Pac wasn't showing any new wrinkles to his style becuase Manny is who he is as a fighter who is now 34. He just did everything better in the 4th fight vs the 3rd becuase he was pulling the trigger and fighting instinctively instead of trying to think and then execute.

What Manny was doing in those 6 rounds was very intelligent and was strategically a very sound gameplan. Of course in this game, the fight can drastically change in an instant as Juan proved with that beautiful counter he was able to find in the last seconds on the 6th round.

I disagree. It took a counter puncher like Juan to capitalize on that opportunity. Mist would have ate another left hand from Manny vs being able to land a perfectly timed right hand.

 

Juan did some good work to the body. But I wouldn't have used the phrase "he viciously attacked the body". He simply found some good moments to land a few well placed body shots that were typically being answered by one of Pac's left hands. I noticed the body work from Juan, however it wasn't enough for him to win rounds.

Explosive, sure.....******ed? That would mean the rest if boxers are basically brain dead if Pac is considered ******ed.

Manny was too eager for a knockout. It happens. Hearns was the same with Barkley. They are beating a guy up and thinking they have the fight and they leave themselves open.
