He looks pathetic in the ring at 223lbs. Slow as hell...looks like he's swatting flies. I said 217lbs was a good wt. for him at HW, but NO!!! 223lbs.:-( Plus, Cunningham has to get robbed after he fought a beautiful fight! What a disgrace. Kathy Duva should be ashamed of herself!:nono What else can ya say!?:think
dont sell your guy out just yet JET Good fight- these 2 guys are evenly matched and thats that I would love a 3rd I knew the weight was meaningless, against speedsters it hurt here but Adamek carries it well In reality Cunninghams great genetics played a part here IMO Tomaz did better at CW no doubt , this fight showed that while Steve was 8 kilo lighter you would never know it seeing them in the ring the man has more muscle mass than Adamek ever will regarless of weigh ins For tomaz a lower weight wouldve helped in THIS fight credit to both guys taking tough tough rematch with not much money , compared to others for a fight of that magnitude both looked fine I thought steve edged a very close fight
maybe not hang 'em up, but he should do three things 1. get the **** away from Bloodworth, asap. he is trying to make Adamek a puncher at HW, and it might look good against guys like Walker, but it will not work at the top level 2. get back down to 215-range. I know the years are catching up, but I find it hard that Adamek doesn't have the stamina anymore to box for at least 9-10 rounds and take 2 rounds off in a fight 3. get back with Andrzej Gmitruk, under him Adamek was the ferocious warrior we all loved, under Bloodworth he's been going downhill, ever since the Grant fight oh, and #4, don't ever step into the same ring as Wlad Klitschko, unless he decides to join his former opponent J Banks in Wlad's training team
Although I had Cunningham ahead 115-113 in this fight I do not think that Adamek should hang them up. He should fight until he loses. I do not think he should fight Wladimir Klitschko though. Kubrat Pulev or Odlieaner Solis.
really? to me it looks like Adamek's lost his footwork, his speed, his vigor, in sense, everything that won him fights in the past
Cunningham's team was smart and came in little over the heavyweight limit. Adamek's team makes reference to a new weight every time they fight. Keep him light, and keep fighting top 10 guys. I don't want to see him against a Klitschko, he'll go to sleep worse than Pacquiao.
I dont blame Tomasz for this bs decisions but you can be damn sure Adamek will go agaisnt Wlad for huge pay check if he is given the chance... Adamek cant even fight for survive there. He is too fukin proud and will get badly hurt.. This is not gonna end up well for Tomasz this time around..
I agree with all of this 100% but Adamek's HW career and Title run will come to an end in his next fight when he faces Pulev.
I highly doubt that Adamek will be the favorite in that fight, but the advantage for Adamek is that Pulev is not as mobile as USS, but he's a better technician with much more power and will pose much more of a threat than Steve did I won't be surprised to see Adamek lose to Pulev, the way he's looked in his last 3 fights
Yeah every fight I watch I keep wondering why Adamek is fighting so poorly and then I remember it's the influence of his trainer. A poor match, truly. Adamek looked like he was going to fall over from exhaustion towards the end just getting into position.
Fair play by you Jetski. I know he's your guy. Although I don't know he should hang em up, but it might not be a bad idea.
I just got home and haven't seen the fight yet, but got like 10 phone calls from friends who called the decision controversial and most had Cunningham winning the fight. I have said it before, and I'll say it again, that Adamek is not himself anymore. His best is behind him and it is starting to show. I think he should slowly start thinking about hanging them up. He is tarnishing the image he fought so hard and so many wars for. And FFS, get rid of ****ing Bloodworth !!!!!!!!!!
Smartest move for Adamek atm would be wait out the announcement of Wlad Potvetkin. When it's signed, the WBA will allow for an interim title fight. Adamek is up there, around 4 or 5 in their ratings, and he would be a suitable fighter to fight for that belt. Chagaev is another WBA mainstay and chances are it will be easy to negotiate a fight between the two. Adamek outpoints a severely slowed Chagaev and wins the interim title, which is immediately upgraded to regular title when Wlad sends Sasha into the 3rd row. Then, Adamek might defend it against the likes of Banks, Dimitrenko, and even Potvetkin before cashing in with a fight vs Wlad.:think
