dont just stand in his range after you land your shots, back off and jump back in while moving your head at mid range. Parry with your hands too.

Watch some Floyd Patterson to see how its done.

First off, learn some combinations. All I see from you is pivot left, Hook. Pivot left, Hook. Pivot right, hook. You start to get a little too predictable. Change things up a bit. LEARN TO THROW UPPERCUTS. I don't think I seen one uppercut in that whole fight. Be a little more versatile and mix things up a bit. GO DOWN TO THE BODY! Learn how to go up and down effectively. Use more angles. While you throw punches in the inside, step to the left and throw more. Step to the right and throw more. A good example is one of Tyson's favorite combo: Right hook to the body and right uppercut upstairs. Watch this video:

I see you're modeling after Mike Tyson. I must say you actually do a decent job on that. BUT with this style comes great responsibility. Especially with your defense. In Tyson's style, it puts a need to move your head A LOT. Maybe almost excessively.
    Watch this video.
    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYZzMPsm6c4[/ame]

Make your trainer work on defense with you. Some examples could be:
    > Him continuously throwing jabs at you while you continuously move you head side to side. When you do move your head, do it as slight and fast as possible. Move it so you barely get out of the way of their punch.
    > Someone continuously throwing combos at you while you duck, bob and weave. With tyson's style, you need to learn how to GET LOW!

Again with this style, you need to be more explosive. Especially because you're an amateur, throw as many punches as you can. Explosive, different angled punches in bunches. You need to put the pressure on him or else he will just jab you to death.

Also a note about your nosebleed. Buy a bar face headgear. It's expensive but it's worth it. The only time you should be bleeding through your nose is in your fight. Minor cuts persistently open up while you spar. Gym sparring wars are not fun, nor is it productive. When you spar, think and learn. See what is working and not working. Go in today and spar with a mindset of learning a specific and particular thing you want to work on. Boxing is a thinking mans game.

    Hope this helped!!

I would say it's because you don't pressure at all but still stay in distance. It could be effective if you added a "hop out and reset" to your game. Basically just stay out of range if you aren't going to pressure.

    Yeah, what's the weight there?

More head movement, go in with a good stiff jab and follow up by a good shot

never post in general lol go to amateur/boxing training forum. I saw a lot of good things from you. Your quick, you have a nice tight guard, tough, always moving forward, good left hook. The things you need to work on are punches in bunches you threw a big left hook and a wild overhand one at a time which got very predictable. You started out with good head movement but then you abandon it when you were close to him. I didnt see a jab until late in the third round. Even if it just closes the distance you have to throw EVERYTHING off the jab. Body punching is very important especially to a peek-a-boo fighter your crouched down usually much shorter then your opponent so you gotta start down low and then come up with big hooks. Throw a wider variety of punches but over all you looked pretty good.

Goddamn, you got the **** kicked out of you.

Why don't you stop posing with your hands in front of your face and actually throw some ****ing combinations? If you stare at him any longer, he's going to expect you to ask him out for dinner.

The peek-a-boo style is ******ed for the amateurs, and for boxing in general. There's a reason why you don't see world champions today using that style. You're not Mike Tyson. You're not Floyd Patterson. You're a little teenage boy who just got the living daylights beaten out of him. Find a more conventional style.

    :deal

    Cool story, bro.

If Tyson's peek-a-boo style was so effective, then how come he was the last champion to ever use it? And by Tyson's style, I mean rarely throwing jabs, constantly bobbing and weaving with your hands in front of you at all times, winging power shots, etc.

You know why it's not being taught and used nowadays? Because it's ineffective. How many world champions has Rooney trained after Tyson?

Tyson was a freak of nature who would've became a boxing champion regardless of what style he used. You're not Tyson, the original poster is not Tyson. Instead of trying to be some sort of badass and mimicking the styles of your boxing idols, start with the fundamentals and progress from there.

First thing to do my friend is fix your stance. Your feet are far to wide for the way you fight! It is no good standing like Bernard Hopkins. You need a short stance so you can move dynamically in short sharp bursts . You have to much weight on the front foot and the opponent only has to touch you with the jab to keep you off balance.

    USE YOUR JAB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no.1 punch in boxing is the jab. Period. You hardly used it. Don't jump in face first...come in jabbing. Watch your hero Tyson in his prime...he'd often throw 2 or 3 jabs in quick succession as he came in range then when he was there then he'd let the heavy artillery go. You were coming in eating leather. Ending up off balance winging punches often missing. Jab is what sets everything up...see that as you no.1 friend. What do your coaches say your doing wrong??

And another thing - if your going to copy Tysons style of fighting make sure you have heavy hands to go with it. I don't think Tysons style would have worked had he not been so fast and heavy handed. He was the shorter guy in all his fights. He couldn't fight a more conventional style and stay on the outside jabbing...he had to get in close. But because he had speed, defensive skills and a KO punch in both hands he could use that style effectively. If Tyson had have been a Mallinaggi style patter cake puncher he'd have gone nowhere with the style he adopted. IMO.
