At the moment it might be. But I've seen many Olympic sports with judges, in wich the country you're from is more important as your performance. Think Gymnastics, Figure Skating and Equestrian for example.
Olympic figure skating comes to mind instantly. Gymnastics too. In non judged sports, horse harness racing makes boxing corruption look minor.
cycling, figure skating are 100 times worse. Baseball and horse seem more corrupt than boxing the way they operate.
MMA has crap decisions too, you just don't hear about them because their commentators are made to to downplay the hell out anything shady. Joe Rogan sucks too much UFC dick to say anything bad about his masters.
well we have to seperate between corrupt and incompetent was yesterdays decision bad or corrupt do you guys think this was an error like there are in many other sports or the result of foul play
There is corruption in many sports there's just more of a history of it with boxing and it's more obvious when it happens due to the scoring system. Just need to look at the fixing scandals in Italian football, cricket, horse racing, snooker as well as drugs scandals in other sports like cycling to show that there is always someone trying to fix the outcome of a sport for financial gain.
It's probably the most brazenly corrupt sport in that the corruption takes place in plain view of the public and nothing can be done about it, and it's also corrupt on a lot of levels, e.g governing bodies and rankings, individual robberies etc. I'm sure most sports are just as corrupt, but a lot more probably goes on behind the scenes.
Yes, then everyone is even in baseball. But even though baseball has umpires and judges, they rarely, very rarely get to decide the outcome of a game. I think most corruption in boxing happens with judges.
