I think NBC did a good job in presenting interesting fights that weren't total stinkers. I remember in the early 80s when most heavyweight fights were far worse than these back then it was couple of blubbery, lumbering heavyweights clinching and posturing, that changed when Tyson came along, thank god. Both of NBC's televised fights had plenty of punching and all 4 guys were in excellent physical condition.

    Good post.:good

Except, the 90s really made popular the hug and lumber method. Lewis and Holyfield and Ruiz were all masters of the hug and posture, and guys like Bowe and Mathis and Foreman, even Moorer truly personafide great fitness and technique.:yep:yep

No, seriously though.....eastern euros are bringing action back into the game. Theyre learning what sells fights and theyre adapting well.

Nice that the K2 paved the way. This decade should really bring boxing back to the mainstream. NBC is smartly jumping on the trend headfirst.:think

I have a question, was it that I'm deaf or was there no mic in the ring to pick up on the sound during the punch impacts during the Adamek/Cunningham fight?

They were landing shots that were completely soundless, so we couldn't take in the impact of the punches.

    I didn't enjoy it.

Glad boxing is back on regular tv though.

Absolutely :good I think PPV is horrible for expanding boxing's audience. Only hard core fans will buy it.

It's a shame that the scorecard was changed after it was announced

Hope to see more nationally televised bouts on network TV in the future :good
