his chin. He lost almost all his fights because he'd outbox the guy, but would keep getting dropped or hurt in the fight.

He won his last fight very clearly though

Cunningham achieved a lot. He was the best cruiserweight in the world for years. He never got the attention he deserved in the USA because he was fighting abroad in an unglamorous division.

Haye ducked him, and Adamek. :deal. Haye was 'undisputed' cruiser champ according to his nuthuggers. :think

Please drop the stupid hash tags. Who gives a **** what color he is besides someone like PrinceN and maybe the OP?

But yes, I agree he would've achieved more by now if he had the privileges and hyper-nationalist fans of a guy like Adamek.

Cunningham also took the hard road to the pros. Boxed amateurs in the US Navy... did a few deployments on aircraft carriers while doing that, then wound up being promoted and fighting in Germany for a period. As seen, can still give the top guys lots of trouble, even at this late stage.

Cruiserweights are a wasteland in this country, so he had to go overseas for his biggest fights.

    well hes not exactly young

his legs seem weak, always seems to go down in big fights

even last night at the end of the night he became more stationary and i dont think it was by choice, i think his legs were worn

it appeared at times if Adamek landed 3 or 4 hard punches Steve might go down

Agree with you, I think he has achieved a lot but just hasn't got the recognition for it.

He couldn't have done that much more at cruiser, he fought almost everyone and his only 'real' losses were Adamek I and Hernandez II and even they were competetive fights. His other 'losses' were either blatant robberies (Wlod I & Adamek II) or controversial (Hernandez I).

    So he fought...

    Huck
    Guillermo Jones
    Wlodarczyk x2
    Adamek x2
    Hernandez x2
    Troy Ross
    Braithwaite

...and he only really lost twice. Like the other guys in this thread said, maybe if he had been more active and better promoted he could have fit in a few other names around that time like Haye (never really an option), Fragomeni or Mormeck.

-Bad chin which has seen him get caught after outboxing his opponent
-No power which allowed a Polish bum to get a BS decision against him
-Personality of drywall which means little media interest in him
-Fighting in Europe a lot which got him no exposure
-Cruiserweight division which is between 2 divisions people actually care about
-Inactivity which allowed him to get rusty and never get momentum going

He don't fight as often as he should. And it's weird cuz he ain't some shot or used up guy who needs to be pickin fights carefully or fightin sparingly. But the guy just don't take a busy schedule.

Fight more and you can do more.
