Wladimir Klitschko vs. Rocky Marciano

What i have seen in this thread is Wlad bypasses boxing altoghter and beat's Rock by hugging him.

Size is the only argument people have, and size is not a skill.

It has been seen throughout boxing- small men flooring bigger men.

People who put such stock in the size dont understand boxing, dont understand Rock and most importantly dont understand Wladimir Klitschko.

Size is an advantage but not in Wlads case where his aura of invincibility reiles on his opponents to stay in range. Luckily for him the majority of them dont have the ambition, tenacity or ability to cause him such problems as Rock would.

The experience of fighting Rock was described as nothing less than hellish and Wlad in no way shape of form holds up to him.

 

Look at the 3rd giff from the botton up. If somebody cant see whats wrong with that id advise them to just give up. This clown has actually done a disservice to the man posting that.

wlad pre sanders threw vicious combinations,was more fluid and actually sat on his punches.he was pleasant to watch
nowdays he doesn't really sit on his punches,that's why he isn't knocking people like he used to.

 

Using size is a skill and arguably noone in history does that as well as wlad.

It is a bit misleading even the greats get a bit lazy and sloppy from time to time in one off situations. Possibly not Marciano though. That in close combination against Marciano may have just been the game changer. Marciano, even with his "lack of reach" could very easily have landed a countered with a clean left hook and suzy Q to finish or at least turn the fight, even if it had been earlier dominated by the Jab and grab.

 

Left hook, right hook, uppercut, straight hand/overhand right down the pipe. Pretty much every punch in the book.

Wlad was kept away from light fisted pressure slugger- Chisora. His camp knew weaknesses. How does Wlad hold up to pressure against one of the toughest and hardest hitters known to the sport.

 

True, at least they're having a go, and have a realistic appreciation of both men's strengths and weaknesses. Kudos to them.

The rest of the bunch are just excruciating.

 

Due to his low crouch it'd probably catch him behind the ear or even across the back of his head. If it caught him flush it'd probably be to the side of his face with the Rock heavily leaning to his right and unable to roll with the impact. Not sure how he'd take it really. It'd obviously badly stun him and maybe knock him down, though if it doesn't he can at least content himself with the fact that it's unlikely to be followed up with anything behind it, and that he'll have a bit of recovery time after Wlad clinches him up. Not that it'll make a difference to the outcome of the fight of course.

 

Mormek was able to close the distance. Wallcot had a chin and took many flush shots. Lame excuse at an analysis croming from two dum dums who attempted to ridicule me.

He was taken away from Chisora twice by those who were closest to him, who knew he matched up badly.

Vitali , who is better equipped to handle guys like Chisora had his hands full for 12 rounds and took some tudding body shots , easily landed by Del boy along the way and was left a husk of a man by the end.

Rock is superior to Chisora is every department and when in close will sit down on body shots that will cause destructive damage on impact. Damage that takes the fight away in a heartbeat.

There is no arguing against the judgement of those who knew his limitations first hand.

Look, to the pro Rocky (or anti Wlad) posters here, I loved the tenacity & grit Marciano showed in the ring. He was a bit of an under sized HW in his era of the 50s.
I'll say it clearer - modern, big & skilled HWs like K bros, LL, etc would destroy :dead a 185# Rocky - and the rest of that and later eras HWs.

I do think a 195# Marciano could be CW champ today, and that would be a more sensible debate.

Wladimir Klitschko will knock out Rocky Marciano in 6 rounds at most, and the only people who can't see that are DILLUSIONAL Marciano fanboys who think that Marciano would beat Tyson, Lewis, Foreman, Ali, when in fact he would get KTFO by any decent heavyweight with some skill thats not a ****ing bum.

If Marciano were fighting today he wouldn't even be a heavyweight, he'd be a cruiserweight, and most cruiserweights today would humiliate and beat him. Boxing has evolved for ****s sake. The thread is a ****ing joke, any jab from Klitschko woud take Marciano's head off, Wladimir would toss him around the ring like a ragged doll. Hell, most of Klitschko's opponents would have beaten Marciano on sheer size alone, this is like making a kid fight an adult. And those of you who say a size difference of 70 pounds is not going to matter are kidding yourselves, ya'll probably have never been in a fight your whole life.

And no one gives a **** that Marciano was undefeated because he has fought only bums his whole career. Ill say this once again, Klitschko would toy with the highly overrated Marciano and beat the **** out of him like a baby. Saying Marciano knocks out Klitschko is like saying a 12 year old boy knocks out a 30 year old man.

 

The reality is that either of the Klitschko brothers would toy with Marciano like a father sparring with his ten year old son. Marciano would be lucky to land a punch a round. He's woefully undersized, would be easily outboxed and jabbed senseless, and couldn't do anything but flail if he did manage somehow manage to close distance. It's not a knock on Rocky to say this, but the level of athleticism has increased dramatically from 1955 even if heart and desire have not.

I'd be more interested to see Marciano at a fair weight matchup against Dwight Qawi or a 190lb Michael Spinks or Michael Moorer.

Waiting on the inevitable Tommy Burns Vs Lennox Lewis thread, though.
