TRUE. Only time I can remember Clottey ever being knocked down is from Cotto's perfectly timed jab. Styles make fights.
That's the thing Scar. Manny doesn't have that type of aggression. He can't get on the inside and lean on Floyd, push him back etc. He can throw punches in bunches but Floyd has all the physical advantages and IQ to prevent that from happening. That weak ass jab left hand **** Manny does is going to get him ****ed as soon as he tries it and his gameplan will be to try it over and over bc he doesn't adjust n fights. I just hope we get to see this **** before they both call it a day even though it won't be what it could have been. ****ing divas. I honestly think that the fight would look just like the Mayweather vs Marquez fight. Floyd would dominate Manny on the outside alone and tie his ass up on the inside and go to work. We must remember that Floyd's handspeed is just as fast if not faster than Manny's and when you add Floyd's great timing to the recipe Manny gets hit constantly by clean, sharp, accurate right hands that will do damage.
Maybe now...back in the day the toughest 147 fighter for him was Williams. Manny is unorthodox enough to cause Floyd some problems, but I think that same unorthodoxy will be Manny's undoing in that fight.
Considering I took you as a stupid person starting this discussion, I'll pretty much treat your stupid comments accordingly. As I said, the population in the United Kingdom doesn't define education to the world. Maybe to you, but not to the rest. :good That's exactly my point in this case, we simply don't know what Pacquiao can or will bring for Mayweather and we don't know how it will work. I'm fully expecting Pacquiao to bring his A game in this fight considering all the time, talk and effort behind it. This fight could be a do or die for him so I fully expect him to treat it that way as he prepares for him. If so, I do believe he can give Mayweather hell for as long as it lasts. This could be a 50/50 fight in my opinion but anything is possible, this is boxing after all. "Hence I have a better understanding than most (not all) simply because I put what I see into practice." That post right there is what my response was related to. Read it again. And I repeat, anyone that considers global or national population as education is an idiot as well. It's very simple, if you act like a fool, I'll treat you similarly. Maybe that's the only way you understand really. "Yes there is one dominant style, it is called being a complete boxer." Where did I say it was about what I said?, you pretty much said that THE dominant style in the sport is that of a complete boxer. I explained to you that this isn't exactly the case. I don't think I need to do more explaining here. If you have problems understand, it's your issue. "Showing yourself up"? It's very simple, when you're going to question my educational level based on national population, I'll make the assumption that you consider yourself on another level. If you were intellectually competent, you wouldn't have made such a hilarious comment only to back away from it and pretend it doesn't exist. That's what you have been doing in this entire discussion. You haven't typed in anything I haven't mentioned already in this thread and I never required you to explain to me Mayweather's style. You pretty much said in the previous response that since Pacquiao's hasn't mastered the art of defense it would be a mismatch. I consider that completely wrong because with Pacquiao's speed, power, consistent attacks he has a great chance at troubling Mayweather. How or why you decided to give me an explanation of what you think is beyond me. You're not everyone. Coming from a guy who types trash like ""I don't agree with you so you're stupid". "P.akistani people are 3% of England, you're educated!". "I don't understand bobbing and weaving properly, you can't compare Tyson to Pacquiao!". "You need to comprehend better!, if you don't, I'm intellectually advanced". "Scar's daddy"?, are you 30 years old or 13?.
This is a nice saying but no one really seems to look at it. You have fighters that take 'hits' because they aren't bothered by them. People scored Abril over Rios on what they perceived to be the cleaner shots and they may have been effective against someone not named Rios. Against Rios they were clearly ineffective and didn't bother Rios. If you listen to some of Kelly Pavlik's interviews he doesn't consider himself 'hit' unless a punch stuns him. What constitutes an effective punch from a fighter can vary according to who he is up against. The entertainment aspect is what sells tickets. When is the last time a 'fight of the year' was a defensive struggle/chess match. Donaire is under rated because he understands this and is good enough that he can worry about the 'show' aspect of a fight he is in. So, what does this have to do with the current topic? Scar's point is Manny will take 'hits' to get his own in. If Floyd doesn't commit to his punches to actually hurt Manny, he will eventually be over whelmed. People think it is the promoters paying off judges? I suspect it is the casino owners influencing the judges with some lush acommodations and perhaps a few 'courtesy chips' for the tables since they benefit most from 'exciting' fights and that is why we see aggressive fighters being rewarded on score cards. Where I disagree with Scar? May's significant reach advantage will make his punches more telling. We will NEVER know though so anyone can argue any point they want and will never be proven wrong. Sadly a safe debate for both sides.
What I would like to see is how both fighters handle their speed and how Mayweather handles Pacquiao's power. Even if it ends up one-sided for Mayweather, it's still great to see how he does it and how long he can keep it up. I think it's fair to say both fighters are past it at this stage yet still entertaining to watch, especially if Pacquiao looks impressive in his 5th fight with Marquez. Besides that, you make good points that I can't disagree with.
Pretty much. Don't bother though, you're discussing with a moronic imbecile who thinks he's performing in a new virtual Frost/Nixon movie. Watch him call you out for comparing Pavlik to Pacquiao now.
