But c'mon, well over 500 posts to debate something that's about as close to a certain outcome (a RM loss) as you can get in a hypothetical match up :think

Joe Louis v Wladimir Klitschko. Who wins?

 

Much better chance for Joe than Rock. Again, he's gonna take punishment closing the gap but I think he could get in range. Joe's taller, longer, faster and more accurate than Marciano so the advantages that are so cartoonishly in favor of Wlad in the previous match-up are not as significant here.

Wlad could win this but it would be a tightrope walk. One slip-up and it's the beginning of the end.

 

Louis wasn't that much more faster than Rock.

Prime Louis was quite a bit faster, especially in his combo speed. He would paw, paw, paw, then throw a blurring combo, kinda like a baseball pitcher setting up a batter.

With Wlad, it's a question of him enforcing his terms on the fight. If he is able to do that, it's hard for anyone to beat him. The question is who has the correct physical and mental assets to take him out of his comfort zone.

Also, the focus here seems to be entirely on how someone gets to Wlad. I think equal thought should be placed on how Wlad would certainly get to this proposed someone. By all informed observations, he hits like a ****ing truck. That can defuse an attack awful quickly.

 

Darn You! This thread needs to die! There have only been a handful of informative or insightful post through this thread.....Most are just name calling of fan boys of an individual or era as superior to all else...

In reality I think an argument could be made either way, but who wants to wade through this whole thread to uncover those moments.

 

Show me a tape of a fighter who had the ability, speed and tenacity to move inside on Wlad using angles and lateral movement?

Wlad has no defence in close. None. It would be seriously easy target practice for Louis once he gets within range.
But the main question is- who in your mind beats Wlad Klitschko?
