Agreed on both counts. Pacquiao landed much harder shots with his left than the right hand that hurt Marquez, which btw landed right at the top of Marquez' nose. It immediately started to bleed.
The timing of the shot was perfect and the point of impact where Pacquiao snaps it is the right distance for it to land with power.

It was that one punch that bloodied Marquez up, yet fanboys want to act as if a major bloody nose can only occur when a fighter is getting beat down.

At no point in this fight was anyone getting beat down.
Both had their moments when each stunned the other, but neighter until the final KO blow had full control of the other.
Pacquiao was still dangerous when Marquez dropped him hard in the 5th, as was JMM when he was stunned with that right hand, as seconds after that shot, he's giving as good as he's recieving. :bbb

I thought that until I noticed on the replay that Juan's right hand kept inching towards a KO. Marquez threw less as Pac would throw more...with the belief that he would eventually catch him like he did in the 6th.

    Two very well placed shots.
I keep rewatching them hoping Bayless won't walk into the picture on both gifs lol
HBO has been replaying the fight with different angles where Kenny isn't trolling us. Maybe those gifs will pop up

To land a devestating blow like the one Marquez landed on Pacquiao, you have to be both lucky and good.

Luck was'nt involved in the landing of the shot, but if that shot is just an inch or two off of where it connected, Pacquiao may have survived it.

The shot was just center perfect. Jesus Christ, Marquez could'nt have centered it any better had Pacquiao's face been put on a tee.

There is'nt any question that Marquez was focusing more on hurting Pacquiao than to get his shots off in combination.

I dont think the KO was Marquez' full focus though.
Pacquiao did tweak his gameplan in this 4th fight and was slipping and ducking more after his shot attempts.
Its speaks to Marquez greatness that in the first two study rounds, Marquez realized this and in the third, he aimed to slowdown Pacquiao's movement and ducking by crashing Pacqquiao with vicious body shots.
Marquez was throwing those body shots with great torque and they were hurting Pacquiao.
The body shots that set up the head shot that dropped Pacquiao full force.

The adjustment in-ring to Roach's gameplan of more slipping and ducking under Marquez' combination attempts was made in-ring by JMM by thrusting himself to smash Pacquiao's body.

Marquez gets caught with that right he does'nt see coming in the 5th and is stalled a bit trying to recover.

I look at the 6th round and see Marquez start to take back contol of his faculties and getting the better of the exchanges the last minute of the 6th.

In the golpe a golpe translated by Bogatazo, Marquez said that inbetween rounds after the 5th headed to the 6th, Nacho focused on the external cut on the bridge of his nose and that his nasal cavities were not worked on.

Had the 6th round ended, Nacho was going to have the time to stop the bleeding that was coming from Marquez nose.
I was probably one of the few Marquez fans that did'nt get alarmed when I saw Marquez nose gushing blood as I knew Marquez had fought 12 full rounds with a busted nose like that in the 1st fight and issued out a schooling.

Personally imo, I have no doubt with Marquez working Pacquiao's body and having made the adjustments to halt or slow Pacquiao's slipping and ducking he had made a concious effort to implement in the early rounds, it was going to be Marquez who would have taken control of the fight heading into the championship rounds.

Its all an opinion of course, but this opinion states Pacquiao may very well have been stopped on accumulation late in the fight based on the massive body shots Marquez was investing in. As it is, those body shots lead to Pacquiao getting dropped for the first time since he's been with Roach!

In each of the fights, its Marquez who ajusts to the tweaks Roach made in training camp.
Pacquiao is never able to fully counter adjust and tweak the gameplan, thinking along with Marquez as the fight flows. Its been the big difference in every one of the fights.

Agree Pac lacks the smarts to adjust the gameplan on the spot

    Great video
    Pacquio got schooled
He listened to the b.s. media too much and bought into the hype
about how great he was-turns out he was only very good
    That was some knockout!

ANd IF the judges had scored the fights correctly JMM would officially be
    4-0 over Pac.
