I've been told stories about the guy by some Ghanians who worked with Quartey & Clottey himself back in the day.

They told me Clottey was the cheapest ****er out there. He was so greedy, he didn't want to pay his old coach or Quartey's ex coach to work his training camp or be in the corner for the Pac fight.

He wanted to keep the whole purse.

Everyone was supposedly telling him to get together with Daniel (Quartey's trainer). They guy was in America, and they could have had a camp- Maybe make something of the fight, because Clottey was a decent boxer.

But Clottey decided to cut costs and he got his cutman to train him & be in his corner for the fight...

So as you know, he shelled up, barely threw a punch and got his payday. After that he lived it up in Ghana for a while & dealt with a shitload of family problems (I dont know the details)

    robbed against cotto?

i bet on that ghannan piece of **** at +220 and after he headbuts the warrior miguel cotto in the third round he couldnt even capitlize on it as the gutless fighter that he is.

cotto won that fight becaus hes a fighter and not a fixer like clottey.

and how do you know that clottey could barely contain himself in interviews with the press? do you know him personally. if so, tell him to "GO **** HIMSELF."

clottey is done and will never fight on a main card again after how he ripped off 40k fans and the 700k that paid for that garbage.

    **** JOSHUA CLOTTEY.

Right. Josh ripped them off? Funny how Clottey turned in the worst "performance" of his career and somehow was gifted a $1.5 million dollar "bonus". The writing is on the wall. Fixed fight.

You don't like him? Fine. He is not a good fighter? Who beat him? I mean really beat him? Nobody. To sit here and pretend he is not a top level fighter is absurd.

Lol at the responses. I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt for the **** poor performance against Pacquiao. I wanted to see if he could work his way back into the mix.

Doesn't anyone find it funny that he has just disappeared literally lol

Very weird case. The Pacquiao fight was strange to watch, he was having success on the extremely rare occasion he went forward.

Clottey didn't actually do that bad. Pacquiao was just too good. Not sure many have rewatched the bout, I did, and didn't think he did that bad. Nothing to suggest a fixed bout anyway.

I dont believe the fight was fixed.....however his performance was THAT bad Clottey did have to come out and explain it - he claimed he had food poisoning.

For anyone who has followed his career the performance was certainly out of place.

It was out of place because he had never faced anyone like Pacquiao. Pacquiao was prime as could be, put that Pacquiao in with anyone who has to transition between defense and attack like Clottey does, and the same thing happens.

And no, I don't agree that it was that bad. He had plenty of success. Pacquiao was just too good.

Before the Marquez fight, Pacquiao said clottey was the strongest puncher he had faced.

True Pacquiao was by far the best opposition he faced. However Clottey himself said he knew he could do much better.

I agree with him, it didn't look like he gave his all and that's the only problem I had I'm not suggesting he should/could have won. It didn't for one second look like he left it all in the ring.

Anyway I'd like to see him in the ring again the version that fought Cotto was nice!
