well this little theory sounds all good and all but... i think its impossible to gage until
kid ginger steps ut up & fights a common opponent....hell a real opponent!

Did you not watch Canelo concede ground to old-man Mosley in their fight?? Canelo has been walked down by almost every naturally smaller fighter he's been in the ring with at some point during the bouts. Floyd will come forward and press Canelo. It's the best strategy against the kid.

ahhh i forgot about old man mosley...
he battered mosley from pillar to post & to the ropes tho...
he does take rounds off tho does the kid....
thaT could definatley cost him the fight against money may.
im sure rounds will be hard to come by as it is...

I rewatched Mayweather vs. Cotto about two weeks ago and concluded that Floyd won the fight in more impressive fashion than credited for.

I do think of anyone at 147/54, Alvarez has the best chance against Floyd.

I dont think Canelo beats Floyd mainly because he only fights in one gear and he's too patient, somewhat too economical with his punches to beat Floyd..

But Canelo would knock Cotto out unless Cotto gets on his bike late in the fight which he often does...

If Canelo learns to defend, we can talk about him having a chance against Floyd...

why do you think he is fighting a boney ghost who won the WBO lightweight title in 2011? floyd wants no part of alvarez or anyone else at 154 not named cotto

cotto is so ****ing over rated at 154 its pathetic

    his career at 154

    won Yuri Foreman :happy
won Ricardo Mayorga (lost 4 out of last 6) :rofl
won Antonio Margarito (lost 2 out of last 3)
    lost Floyd
    lost Trout

he is 3-2 with one win over a nobody and the other 2 over guys who have lost 6 of 9 fights. lost 2 in a row and somehow hes gonna use his "footwork" to beat a guy like Canelo....WTF ever :patsch

can yellow has yet to beat a top ten contender at junior middleweight ! Over hyped , would be badly exposed by Floyd and quite possibly by Trout ! Wasout punched by a smaller Gomez for five rounds and ate every shot a light hiting Hatton threw at him ! Floyd would walk down and stop this B- fighter !!

Alvarez looks solid but I think he'd be intimidated really early on by how well Floyd would be able to time him. Canelo has the physicality to trouble Floyd, but I'm not sure he has the seasoned timing with his jab and upper body movement necessary to pressure Floyd and hit him more than he hits you. He has a chance but I don't see it happening.

Cotto may not have the physical tools left to beat Canelo, but the Cotto that beat Margarito beats Canelo. He'd be sharper on the outside, circling and boxing behind a jab and counter-punches, and he'd be tighter and more technical on the inside backing Canelo up.
