he had one name JLC where people(mostly mexicans) thought it was a robbery, he schooled him badly in the 2nd fight. Thing is he is very good that he doesn't make rivals, he only need 1 fight vs jmm and jmm can count all the rounds vs. pacquiao but he couldn't even count 1 vs. floyd.

For him to have a rival, he needs to be in a disadvantage, like for example if his opponent needs to be a middleweight or a super middleweight. Btw, mosley was somehow regarded as his rival prior to their fight but we all know what happened there

Homey your fighter got put to sleep. When he fought a fighter a WW that wasn't wieght drained. Floyd started the negotiations with Arum, and Arum made excuses. It took forever for Pacquioa to say he wanted the fight. Pacquioa fan are a lonely group, they have no champion and in his last fight he was put into a temperary coma with a single punch. If he fights again to soon it will happen again, ala RJJ.

If you would check Arum record you would understand what is happening with Pac, but you are to busy trying to point the fingers away from Pac. I know where the problem lies, ask Oscar De La Hoya why he was called chicken De La Hoya while he was with Arum. Check that bit of business out. Arum was running Oscar career the same way he was doing Pac. You're to blind to see that, Pac scared no, Mayweather scared no, but Arum scared oh Yeah.

Fail thread by MrMagic ! This discussion is pointless cuz I don't get it why Floyd should fight with MW , SMW , LHW and HW guys ?!:patsch I mean is a small guy / a ww and its normal and legit to fight at his own weight division. Guerrero is a good choice and I don't see a better ww (better than Bradley) for Floyd than Guerrero.

Some time ago I wanted that Floyd to fight Sergio at 154 but right now I think its wrong. This kind of thing i.e fighting with the biggest PPV star although is a 2 division down is killing the sport ! Stay at your own division or around of it and create there excitement and good action packed fights for the fans. In this way every division will have their own "Mayweathers and Pacquiaos"!

So Canelo should fight @ 154 with Trout , Lara and eventually a fight with Martinez at a c.w.

Martinez should rematch Jr , fight Golovkin , fight Canelo or Cotto at a c.w agreement , etc.:deal

Mayweather doesn't have many fans, except those who appreciate skill over brute. Mayweather has hater$ who pay his bills and do his public relations---they're called *******s. *******s get butt hurt, they'll talk about Mayweather. You're right Mayweather doesn't have a fan friendly style, yet he's the biggest draw in boxing. Go figure.

OK... Woah. Couldn't disagree more on most of that.

    1. If Manny wanted to fight JMM so much, there wouldn't have been 4 and 3 year gaps between I and II and II and III.

    2. Before Trout was among the elite 154 match ups, as you list, it was Cotto. Guess who Mayweather just fought this year at 154?

    3. I haven't heard anything about Khan. Is that legit being discussed?

    4. There aren't "so many viable GREAT matchups" as you say. List them please.

    5. Your thread title. Rivals have to fight in the ring. Was Wills Dempsey's arch rival? Was Bowe Lewis' arch rival? So, one would say that Mayweather's arch rival in his career was Jose Luis Castillo.

In order to have a rivalry, there needs to be competitiveness, almost certainly more than one fight, and usually for the better fighter and favorite (Mayweather in this case) to lose.

I don't know about this rivalry business but Floyd does need to step it up on the competition... Guerrero isn't cutting it for me especially with this one fight a year deals.

Alvarez, Martinez, followed by Marquez or Bradley, or bust.

    Great post.

Nobody is denying Mayweathers technical superiority, so many butthurt Mayweather diehards subscribe to this thread only to try and shoot down the fact that Mayweathers materialized fights aren't what the public wants to see.

We want(ed) Pacquiao, Martinez, Alvarez and we're probably going to get Guerrero.

The simple fact is, Mayweather is dishonoring his fans by taking these chump fights that nobody wants to see.

I understand Floyd, however.. I'd have done the same if I was him, making millions upon millions to secure my family, and fighting low risk fights, and fighting safety first... I totally understand it.

BUT as a fan, you just have to be disgusted with it all.

Why did Pac and JMM rematch in the first place? Bc Pac didn't win decisively and still can't. Floyd only had to rematch his "rival" one time in castillo due to close match and he won clearly on the rematch. So does that answer your dumbass question?

    1. There is no question, reading comprehension troubles?

    2. The point of this thread is quite clearly pointed out time and again.

    3. Where Pacquiao at least had rivals due to fighting the best, Mayweather hasn't fought the people we want him to.

Says you? Floyd has fought Judah, Oscar, Hatton. Those are matches i wanted to see and i saw it. Aside from that is Pac. The way you talk, you act like you follow one boxer. You do know the same can be said about Pac, cotto, martinez and on and on. " He didn't fight whoever i wanted " wah

    @Mr Magic.

You got fools who says they wanna see Floyd fight Martinez who is a MW shows up fight night at 168 while Floyd shows up at 151. Oh yeah no agenda at all. And LMAO at the people who wants Floyd to fight Angulo, and kirkland just bc they could maybe land a lucky shot? The are the requests i have been seeing. Bunch of jokes who wishes Floyd will get ktfo.

As if any big name just want to fight a CONTENDER from another weight class.
