Why does Kessler Demand Froch Come to Denmark?

Kessler did not demand Froch to come to Denmark for a return.

If he said that than he is a coward,i never said that about a fighter,but if froch came to denmark and lost a shady decision then you have an obligation to come to england.
Or better do it on neutral teritory.
This makes me hard to cheer for hometown fighters.There are so many fighters with padded records that never fought outside their countries,what the **** is that ****?
Kessler fought 4 times outside denmark and lost two times.**** him,let him stay in denmark and fight bums and cab drivers.

 

I disagree mate.

For the simple reason that Americans support vigorously when he claims that he has beaten Kessler and would want a rematch to happen in the US again.

Kessler already took his belt to Oakland - when Ward was a nobody. Kessler had nothing to gain from that fight.

It is too hypocriotical to demand Kessler should go to england and supporting that Ward should not honor a rematch in Copenhagen. Hypocritical. And Froch has more to gain from fighting Kessler in Copenhagen than Kessler had fighting Ward, because Kessler is a much bigger name than Ward was, and Kessler already beat Froch. So Kessler really has gone beyond and above many many times.

Therefore I think he deserves to be on the good side of traveling this time.

It is very clear that Carl need Kessler more and hence Kessler can make demands. Just like Ward is making demands for a Kessler-Ward rematch.

 

I'd be calling Ward on the same bollocks if he were to say Kessler needs to come to US to fight him.

 

Kssler has been calling out Ward publically for a long time for a rematch. Even before he ever fought Carl. If Ward-Keser happens in Copenhagen, then there is moral integrity to have Kessler-Froch in the UK. Until then - I won't say Kessler should go to the UK - because realistically Carl wants the rematch the same way Kessler wants the Ward rematch.

Ward knows he can make demands because he won their first fight, and so does Kessler of course.

 

Don't make out that Froch was doing Kessler a favour by travelling to Denmark. Carl Froch was honouring his obligating to the Super-Six. Just like Kessler did by travelling to Oakland as the champion.

Carl Froch knew he was fighting Kessler in Denmark before the first round matches. If Froch had lost to Dirrell and Kessler had won against Ward, then Carl would have benefited. He would have fought for Kessler's title immediately after losing.

 

I'd lose alot of respect for Kessler if he backed out of the rematch in Nottingham tbh.

Froch went to Denmark when he was world champion to fight Kessler, and Froch has done more since then. Kessler has also stated that he's willing to face Froch in the UK so to back out now would be pretty ****.

I still think the fight will happen in London or Manchester though.

I think this is where things are:

Kessler has no more reason to going to the UK than Ward has to go to Denmark.

Negociating with Froch, Kessler has the upper hand, and against Kessler, Ward has the upper hand. If they want a rematch they may have to accept the terms and go to Denmark / the US again.

On a side note, if Carl believes he could have won if not for the ash cloud that made him loose focus last time... then it should not be a problem to go back.

For Kessler, if he feels it was head buts etc that decided the Ward fight then perhaps a referee they can agree on could solve the issue while still happening in the US again?

Either way, Ward does not have to go to Denmark as there was no clause. Kessler does not have to go to the UK for the same reason.

Technically, you're correct and i agree with crux of your post. The situations are different though imo. Ward is the clear #1 at 68 and would be heavily favoured to beat both Mikkel and Carl in rematches. Conversely, Froch vs Kessler II is seen as THE fight to make at 68 by every sane boxing fan and is the very definition of a true 50/50 fight. Also, unlike Ward vs either man, Froch vs Kessler is guaranteed fireworks!

Froch and Kessler both have a claim to be #2 at the weight (for me, it's Froch due to the Bute fight) and both Kessler and Sauerland have stated recently that they'd be more than happy to come to England aslong as the fight wasn't in Nottingham. He might not necessarily be obligated to come to England, but i think most objective fans would say that it'd be the decent thing to do given the fact Carl fought Kessler in his backyard when Carl was the WBC champ and Kessler was coming off a loss.

I'm losing a bit of interest in Andre tbh. He doesn't seem that willing to take risks and i don't ever seen him fighting Kessler or Froch in their respective countries. Like Kessler, he isn't obligated to do so and he's already proved he's better than both Kessler and Froch, but it'd shut up alot of his critics and prove alot.
