Will Marquez pull a Lewis and retire instead of rematch?

They fought FOUR times. Anyone who thinks JMM would ever duck Pac is a sore loser. That's just the truth. Lewis never put Vitali to sleep last I checked. People act like there was controversy in the 4th fight when there wasn't any. Pac leading in the scorecards means Pac was competitive and perhaps threatening but not good enough to beat JMM. End of story.

Pacquiao has two wins over him and didn't really need to give him as many fights as he did either, right? You're one deluded cabdriver, Pablo.

 

It can be argued quite strongly, video analysis in support of, that he beat Pac four times. There is no need for a rematch. We saw that he needs the KO to get the win, that isn't fair for any boxer. He outboxes Pac every time, but Pac gets credit for simply throwing punches, regardless of whether they are even landing.

 

Bottom line is you have two evenly matched GREAT warriors who give us good fights. Pac could have declared 'victory' after the first fight saying he won except for a scoring error. Suddenly now that Marquez finally has a win in his column you are seeing some people saying that is the ONLY one of the 4 fights that count.

 

Take your head out your ass and stop acting like Pac kept fighting him because he had a good heart and wanted to keep giving him chances to prove himself. He fought him four times because it was the most financially sensible options. If there were other big money fights, he wouldn't have fought him.

 

KO 6, i hope he does retire, what a way to.

 

Marquez should retire and avoid a fifth fight considering how obsessed he is with a win vs Packy. He could lose or get knocked out in a fifth fight, I mean anything can happen. But with that said, he would be a dumb ass for not taking a fifth fight. A fifth fight would net him around 20mills win, lose, or draw.

This was the only decisive and clear win! That's the difference. All the other fights were very close and some could of gone either way.

We finally got a clear winner by KO here, you can not compare the other wins to this one.

 

Pacquiao got careless in RD6..
Marquez got lucky with that counterpunch..

if that punch did not hit the Pacman,
I see a clear TKO from Pacman in RD 7..
or a UD 118-107 (Marquez winning only Round 3, 10-8)

But again, no excuses.. Marquez deserved the KO win..
and i believe Pacman deserves a 5th fight..

Although I was agree Pac was beginning to take charge and would have won decisively if not for the KO (and may even have KO'd JMM), that counter-punch was not lucky, JMM was looking for it all night and in the previous 3 fights. As they say in golf, 'the more I practice, the luckier I get'.

but what i meant about "lucky" is, that it hit Pacquiao with 1 sec. remaining on the clock..
lucky because it was so perfect, pacquiao ran through his counter right..

but a lucky punch? of course not..

 

Marquez is a master counter puncher but he did get sorta lucky to land that punch. It's not that he was waiting for that exact moment, he was trying to land that punch numerous times and it finaly landed with 1 sec left with the help of...Pac being careless and their foot got tangled which threw Pac off balanced. Nonetheless Pac put himself in that position for Marquez to hit him with that punch so its Pac own fault but you can't deny that Pac was tapping that ass good. He could have taken Marquez out in a round or two if he took his time.
